Description
You saw the pilot that I uploaded before, now witness his steed. This is the FX-22 Spiderfish. This is the second draft of a fightercraft that I am hoping that will be used, or at least referred to, in a game. I'm contributing a few designs in an effort to help, but I don't know if the design I've seen so far is final.I hope it isn't. Quick runthrough: This is an exoatmospheric fighter. It can ONLY operate in outer space, unlike an aerospace fighter that can operate in both, or an atmospheric fighter that can solely work in the air. Four pivoting engines allow a 180x180 degree area of turning.
This fighter can be armed with an autocannon, an experimental plasma cannon, as well as missile launchers, although no other form of exoatmospheric fighter has been known to exist.
The vehicle was designed in a joint effort by the United States Marine Corps, NASA, the European Space Agency, and the Canadian Armed Forces, along with multiple other subsidiaries. The exact cost for research and development is unknown, but is rumored to be in the hundreds of millions, if not higher.
There is only room for one pilot, as he is essentially riding a meteor. The FX-22 is clocked to run at well over ten thousand miles per hour at max in vacuum, but a Human pilot should take care not to accelerate to the point where a blackout would be instantaneous, even with a G-suit.
So far, the few existing FX-22s are under the watchful eye of VMX-22, a US Marine Corps Experimental Fighter Division.

First thought: that looks an awful lot like a Tau Devilfish...

That is a very nice spaceship design. You should build a prototype and see if you can get it to work.

There is no top speed in space. There is only acceleration until you run out of fuel, or until your thrust can't overcome relativity.
