Description
The Copenhagen is a Socrates-Class Destroyer that was in service from 2709-2880. The main purpose for this ship was that of an anti-ship vessel. Twin MAC cannons with reciprocating fire cycled Medium-sized coilgun shots to a percentage of light speed. This motion allowed the Copenhagen and others of her class to achieve a rate of fire upwards of a round every five seconds if need be.The Socrates was originally designed as a fusion of Forerunner and Human technologies, and it is most evident in its drive core. While not visually perceived as a very nimble ship, the Copenhagen can run circles around even a destroyer, but this has a price. The Transient Drive Cores can become unstable when pushed to their limits, and this was evident as the cores aged and containment technology was not updated with the decades. Seven Socrates-class vessels were lost because of this hybrid technology, but the Copenhagen was spared this fate as the Naval Engineering Corps removed the temperamental hybrid drive and replaced it with a conventional fusion engine.
This would sacrifice the Copenhagen's Olympian speed, but her teeth were sharp even through her age. After hosting 171 years of active service, the proud vessel was retired to the Robt McLees orbital shipyards over Mars.
In addition to her MACs, the Copenhagen boasted 70mm Conventional Chemical/Railgun cannons and Tanis Mk. V ASGM Missile banks. Some Socrates-class ships have Hydrogen Fluorine Laser hardpoints, but these are rare and more expensive to maintain.
The ship could house a squadron of AF-88 Pegasus Strike Fighters as well as two GA-TL1 Longsword Interceptors. Holographic landing guides were deployed from the bays to guide pilots into land. As a precaution, the bays were always decompressed in a combat situation to avoid rapid decompression.
The symbol for the Copenhagen is the immortal Little Mermaid, who actually serves as a symbol for the city the ship is named after. She resides as a statue in the ship's medical center and was on the ship patch for the vessel. Under her image in Danish reads, 'Med herlighed og tapperhed', translated meaning, 'With Glory and Valor'.

It looks really great! You're always very creative with making space ships and I love that!
Hmm... how about naming one after a Dutch city... eh? eh?

Thanks man! I want everything I make to have a story behind it! It's something I'm very proud of.
I can do that. Just give me a name and I can be sure to do something... but I need to do something for FWOOSH first. She's been pressing me for a couple days.

Heh... she sure knows how to pressure someone
Names, eh? Well, I could give you name of my city/village, which is Katwijk... but the best known Dutch cities are Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Eindhoven, I think. Do what you think is best
