Wow it gives such a feeling of vast desolation. Brilliant.
The soft tones you've used do very much lend it the impression of sinister concealment, and really emphasise how fearful and out of place a human should feel. This realm feels to be one of djins and beings of vacuous spirit in a most malicious form. I love the pictures range of the lighter to the darker accross the page of the already passified tones, which range seats the structure in a sort of overemphasised twilight that has such a profound effect on the piece as regards it's highlight and attention.
Chromatically speaking the colours blend beautifully, with the dull reds for the ground becoming more prevelant as the light dims from left to right. What would otherwise be a glorious yellow if it wasn't so subdued becomes to feel oppressed by it's similarity to all other colours here. I think that is what governs this picture's feel for it seems masked in a perpetual haze that constricts even vibrant light, that drags it inexorably into the monochromatic, an aspect which is definitely akin in a least my, if not the human conciousness to the absence of vibrancy, brilliance, and civilisation.
I can almost hear the whispers of it's dead wailing for the onlooker to leave lest they suffer the same cloying destiny. Only ever a whisper, there's never any sound here save the dull hum of the wind.

The left looks a little bit too bright and empty, maybe add a little more background clouds/shading on it.
