Nice idea ! Like you I'm all for Ubuntu-Gimp-Inkscape, so I enjoy the vibes of this piece !
How did you do this grass ? It feels like you used the finger tool. Right ? If yes, it must have been a question of setting the right settings to get the leaves just that way.
I'm very interested to know more about that making, if you'd like to share.

Why would they? Kubuntu is an Ubuntu project project. Just as Ubuntu is an Ubuntu project project.

It was very interesting for me to see, how the KDE-"spirit" changes, when I brought in some warm background-colors ...
(By the way: I switched back yesterday - or was it forward? - to linuxmint to try out the new beta release of glx-dock. And this wallpaper looks very good on its "new" desk ...)
