My end of an art trade with , you can see her end here: [link]Sorry it's a little late, something unexpected came up and I didn't get much of a chance to work on it until tonight. BUT, hope you like it, it was a lot of fun to work on.

Someone might need a cuppa' coffee.... Anywho! Fantastic drawing. His head is particularly well drawn with the angle of his teeth and long tongue. For a somewhat generic pose you still manage to pull it off with that lean. Expression is pretty good, too. Don't think I'd wanna mess with that Salamence 'till he's a bit calmer. Really great drawing, though. One of the best Salamence drawing I've seen for sure. ^^

Yeah he's pretty rad, it seems like every time one appears in game it means huge problems for the other trainer. Really need to actually use one at some point, lol.

Hah, glad you liked it! I wasn't sure if I should have made him overly scary or not, but then I realized his only ability is intimidate.

Thanks! Same here, the tongue/mouth was my favorite part to work on. I tried to make it sort of snakelike, as opposed to how it looks in his official art. It kind of made his design a little more interesting I think.

Yep... And I had NEVER trained an Ice Type until my Vanilluxe in Pokemon Black, and the fact that my Generation 3 team was HORRIBLY unbalanced (Swampert, Pelipper, Crobat, Linoone, Masquerain and Manectric). When I was young, I thought that Drake was the last one to fight because he used Dragons, so when he said 'The Champion awaits'......
My jaw fell like a ton of bricks. XD

He is pretty great. Weirdly though he's the only dragon type I have never used in the games, I wish they'd made Bagon a little easier to get haha.

This one also makes me want to play more pokemon cause I have never seen one of these in game. Its pretty sweet lookin' tho. The scales look badass too.. how are they done? Just individual strokes?
Background is incredibly... efficient. Nothing but a few well-placed brush-strokes but they create a convincing illusion of a landscape.

Yeah, the scales were just applied with the brush tool as part of the layer I have all of my lighting and shadows on, and then I go back over and add highlights to them with the pen/brush as needed.
