Description A storm has hit Malaysia causing an illegal Diamond mine to collapse trapping several miners, due to the mines poor construction water is leaking in. As International Rescue arrive they receive word that the nearby Bakun Dam has burst and the entire area is about to be flooded.

With only minutes to spare, Virgil takes the "Mole" and plots a direct path to the trapped men knowing full well there wont be time to get back up again...

After years of having my own "Mole" design i've finally modelled the original. My second favourite pod vehicle next to the firefly. This one took about 2 weeks off and on. Must be something about me and rain...

Made with:
Vue 10
Particle Illusion
Google sketch-up
Mud
Metal
Epic
And some vague info on Maylasia I obviously googled in 5 minutes...

Gerry Anderson, the creator of Thunderbirds and many other shows we all know and love died recently. Needless to say I have a lot of respect for the man and owe a lot of my talent to the shows he created. I only ever got to meet him twice, once at a convention and once when I got stuck in a revolving door behind him at a hotel and his wife rescued me. On both occasions he was really nice and approachable. Thanks to the pod vehicle competition I helped Fanderson with, he was shown some of my artwork and I'm told he liked it a lot.
I have my TB2 "Angel of mercy" signed by him and hanging from my wall.

I remember reading an anecdote about Gerry which stuck with me, the day he married Sylvia he stopped by the studios when they where filming a sequence for "Supercar", they couldn't get it to launch out of the water right so telling his wife "i'll be late" he literally spent his wedding night helping to get one of his creations to fly. I thought that was pretty cool.

wow incredible work, and a very fantastic little story

i've only seen thunderbirds and captain scarlet(original and cgi): loved them, Gerry Anderson basically gave my imagination fuel for the fire when i was little

Fantastic! Like you, The Mole was one of my favourites, and you've done her proud. As one who has been watching his work since "Four Feather Falls", it was very sad to see the passing of Gerry Anderson, but he left a legacy of astonishing work that will last a long time.
