Description
I was bored so I decided to sketch Kirk in vacuum. Mhm.Like always, Kirk is flying around in blissful unconsciousness, Spock is saving his ass and Bones is probably getting drunk somewhere. What a happy family.
Aaaand they still don't belong to me.

Its a good picture, even if it is scientifically inaccurate, as even exhaling all the air in your lungs wouldn't save you from dying in seconds in vacuum exposure, as the oxygen in your blood would boil, causing every blood vessel in your body to burst as the O2 in your body tries to escape into the vacuum, and the extreme cold would flash freeze your skin (and the resulting blood vessels bursting would cause it crack), and so on... quite grisly when you think about it...

Actually, it is scientifically possible to survive for a few seconds in vacuum, and if it is not hard vacuum, you can survive even for minutes. The boiling blood is actually somewhat of a myth if I understand it right - you will get sunburn, but your blood will not boil, only the saliva on your tongue will. The freezing is also myth - heat doesn't travel so fast in vacuum, so you would keep adequate temperature for some time. As this picture is only mere seconds into Kirk getting to the vacuum, he won't get any unrepairable damage.
Thank you very much for your comment ! I like discussing things!

well, you're right, but NASA says you got about 30 seconds to live anyways, so the issue is a moot point: Kirk's dead.

Nah, with Kirk's luck, he would be there for 29 seconds at most . We also cannot forget Spock's experience in saving him, so I believe they would pull it of somehow, even against the odds.
Thank you for the link, it's interesting reading material!
