Time underneath the surface of the waves tended to blur into itself. It was boring perhaps. But peaceful. Chill even. There was just the sound of the water within her ears and her own heartbeat to keep her company. Her augmented lungs gave her a few hours of time before they needed to be refilled. Her buoyancy had been set to neutral, allowing her to float in position without worrying about sinking to the bottom; somewhat important considering that her augments would otherwise weigh her down like a sack of potatoes. One of the prices paid when your skeleton and muscles were reinforced with titanium.

Lynx floated there for awhile, half dreaming. Her mind drifted from place to place. Time spent before she became a fighter. Her hometown. Old childhood memories. She thought about the time she and Alex went swimming in Colorado, before everything went to hell. She remembered his laughter when they both slipped off the lake pier when they went to take a selfie, landing on their asses on the shallow beach. Good times.

All these thoughts were then brushed away in an instant. An alarm went off in her head, courtesy of the commlink implants.
"Rise and shine Lynx." Came Havelock's voice. "You got company coming above."

She opened her eyes and looked up to the surface. Time to get back to work.

Experimenting with underwater lighting in this piece. Wanted to also show off Lynx without her brown jacket or leggings as well. Part of me thought about lacing some more of the lights casting shadows over her legs, as well as her face and arms, but I feared the angle wasn't good for it. Overall, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
