Description
If I live in a world where Godzilla existed, I'd stay the hell outta Tokyo. He turned that joint into a parking lot every couple years. He's at it again. I was going for the "guy in a suit" look, but I cheated a bit and turned his head to make him a little more alive. I was also trying to create that crappy spark show from the films when he stomps on model buildings. Hope that comes across some. It was fun to give this a go.Markers and white paint on Canson color paper

Amazing piece. Love the detail and the glow on the spines. The head turning really does make it feel alive.

Your works are awesome as ever. Godzilla is pretty scary if he were real.
Someone shot him a couple of meters below his crotch, and Big G ignore it like a fly landing on his skin. To him, those missiles probably felt like free massage, no wonder he kept going back to japan.

so awesome, hehe! very nice work again with the colored-paper play... I do like the 60s Godzilla most though (his skin and mouth structure looked like burnt hamburger patties)

Thanks. The skin wrinkles took a while. Made the piece take longer than most of my commissions.

TOHO owns Godzilla. Period. Sony has the American rights to some of the movies and another studio has the rights to some of the other films for distribution here including the original movie. Sony or rather TriStar I believe still has the rights to make an American Godzilla flic if they were so inclined. Great version of Godzilla here. The Arthur Adams version is alot different thatn this. Both are excellent.

Thanks for the info. I've added Toho to the post. I used both Adams and stills from the flicks as refs, so it's a combo of the two.

Very cool. I have almost every Godzilla film ever made. Still missing a few. I've always been a fan. Your rendition is remeniscince of the magazine that used to be published called G-FAN,. I don't know if it's still published but they always showcased Godzilla fan art.

It took a bit longer than I my usual pieces. About 11 hours I think with all the white paint washing I had to do. Thanks!

The only other person to do Gojira (Godzilla) some justice besides Art Adams will be you. The only thing it needs are the toy tanks on the ground.
