Description
The second of my turtles paintings. Going to try something a little different with each. These guys are still a blast to draw. I get so much nostalgia when I work on these.Oils on canvas

Thanks. What painter hasn't been influenced by Frazetta.

You might be my favorite oil painter of all time.

This is gorgeous and I think the oils really compliment the textures in the subject. The joy it exudes is undoubted - especially since it's a very mutual feeling among the people commenting here! ; D

Love the texture on Raph's hide. Totally digging the darkened and muted red and greens as well. Awesome stuff!

I love this, the TMNT movie should have used this design instead.

This is sick! Love the lighting/shading and how it creates a really strong sense of form.

Great stuff, Chris. definitely your own interpretation, but it honors the "classic" version of the Turtles, rather than all of these modern permutations...

Can I say there is a Corben mood in the shades and textures? Fantastic, by the way.

This looks like some awesome art I'd get on a trading card. Love the classic feel to it, I really like the kind of 'mood' lighting you have in this one; has a dramatic feel that I associate with the original Turtle comics. Very cool.

Thanks. Yeah, the comics are what I really know of the turtles, so my inspiration for them comes from that source. It shows a lot in this piece moreso than the first. I was going for something new with that one.

The composition on this is utterly fantastic. I love the attention the sai gets with its downward angle; the muscle response in his hand and forearm are excellent. Love what you do, sir.Β
