Description
I did this one for myself a while back. I did a lot more color mixing on this one than I have in previous paintings.ΒOils on Masonite.

That's great! It's good to see you're getting as comfortable with wide color pallets with your oils, now that the mechanics are all down and working. I am also, obviously, enamored of the art, as art, of course!

Thanks. Yeah, I have a basic understanding of how the medium works now, but every time I say that, I get hit with another WTF moment ha. The monochrome paintings allow me to focus on the rendering, but I'm trying to keep pushing myself with palette as well.

Honestly, I think that's a curse (and blessing, I guess) of every single medium, ever. It seems to be working out smashingly for you, though and that's always good to see!

Maybe....It isn't spoken for, but I've had a few people interested. It's hard to sell my paintings!

Hey Chris,
I never saw your reply!!! Sorry about that.
I actually commissioned a Donald Blake transforming into Thor piece from you many, many years ago. I was part of the Australian fan group that was getting commissions from you at that time.
I have been wanting to get something else from you for a while and this painting is beyond spectacular. I may not even be able to afford it, but since being in Australia precludes me from getting my hands on a lot of good art, i just had to ask.
What ballpark figure would you be thinking for this Wolvie piece? I LOVE paints and am keen to pick up a few more painted pieces.
I hope all is well with you and am thrilled your career has been going from strength to strength
Cheers.

Absolutely fantastic sir; as usual. Love the emotion you convey with the textures. Love it even more that you still keep the traditional medium alive; beautiful works.

Heh, well I get emotion from my textures, but I figured it was just me having fun doing them. If you feel something from them too, that's fantastic!

Really nice--I think the color mixing turned out beautifully. Really makes the whole painting very harmonic.Β

The colors, lighting, and how the branch in front of Wolverine gently fades into the background really gives it a sense of depth.

Your work is always a treat to see,Β my friend. You haveΒ such a distinctive style,Β and this piece is another great example of it. Fantastic detail work, and composition is on-point as always. Never hurts to see one of my favorites as the subject matter, too . Thanks for sharing!
