I was looking to do a little background practice, and started on a photo study, but I forgot to bring the picture with, after starting out with the initial sketch. So I tried to put a bit of my own spin on it, too.Β
This was a bit of an experiment with some textured brushes, too. I don't often post practice pieces like this, but I feel especially proud of this one, and think it was a great learning experience.

Excellent use of complimentary colors. The composition is great as well. The river really attracts attention towards the background.

The colours are very pretty! C: And the warm tones give a nice contrast against the cold hues. Also, do I spy the same tree brush, for the foreground, as mine.
