Finished!I think most of you will see which one is the king.
I posted a WIP for this a while back, and I've been making changes to it since then. I decided to use the dragon, but add some more symmetric foreground elements, so the piece as a whole doesn't look off balance. I think the final composition turned out well. The converging lines in the background were especially fun to work with. Warm color schemes are addictive, too.
This piece was quite a lot of work.
I always want to make each piece of art I make better than my last ones, and one way I go about that is by putting some more time into the details.
This one went through several different revisions, but after spending so long on this picture, I think I'm in the mood for some quicker pieces next. This one had over 100 layers.
That may not be the pinnacle of efficiency, but at I am proud of the final result, so the time spent was worthwhile, in my opinion.

The way I see it - it is the dragon who is the king, while that human is some sort of representative/proxy 
Amazing artwork, stunning light effects, but the best thing, of course, is the dragon - he looks truly majestic.

This piece is amazing! I love the fisheye perspective, it lends both a sense of scale and grandeur to the dragon, and the piece in general.

I'm trying to expand my color palette with the next few pieces I make, to correct for that.
This was the most effective color scheme I could find for this one. Letting the red and orange hues dominate the piece provided more impact than a more balanced color scheme, I think.
That is definitely an area where I should practice, though.

I understand what you mean by that, it does seem the right choice of colours for the piece, it definitely lends an overwhelming sense of regality and scale to it.
Sounds great, and really, you can only get better from here. It's all learning, and if an expanded and balanced colour scheme doesn't suit, you'll find out. Though, from what I've seen so far, if anyone could pull it off well, you could. Keep up the amazing work!
