Last week was definitely a daily challenge fail.However, I got a fun idea, and needed to spend the time to fully develop it. It's also my first attempt at drawing stained glass windows. That was an adventure.
The setting was partially inspired by that water temple in Secret of Mana. I'm attempting to put some more thought into the setting and details, to try and push my art up a level.
The dragon is mostly blind, but has the ability to see people's hearts, and is waiting for the right person to arrive. It has been a rather long wait already.
Also, my crusty old tablet is no longer a concern. I recently got a Modbook. It's like an Apple Macbook, with a tablet screen. It's rather neat, and has pressure sensitivity, so now I can draw on the go.
Now that I've worked this idea out of my head, maybe I'll get around to those daily challenges.

I made a minor retouch with a bit more light around the face. I also increased the contrast around the edges of the head, to make those a bit more clear. I definitely think that helped improve it a bit.

The Modbook is a lot of fun. It's better for art than games.
The stylus is awesome for art, but it makes playing games very difficult.

I'll have to try and make more detailed claws. I re-drew them a few times because they were giving me a bit of trouble when working on this one. Thanks for pointing that out, though. Things like that are always helpful.

Quite a good job on the stained glass, if I do say so myself.
Looks like a large dragon. It's a little difficult to get the scale, but the cross on the pedestal looks like it would be just a bit larger for a human. XD

That stained glass was rather difficult.
I noticed a bit of a problem with the scale when you pointed that out. The cross was originally intended to be a sword, but it started looking quite small when compared to the crows in the background. The crows are really rough, and I added them in rather quickly, to help define that sense of scale... I made a slight change to them, and a larger change to the sword, to try and clear things up a bit. It's not an epically huge dragon.
Hmmm... I should probably work on scale and perspective a bit more.

Yeah, I can believe that. I have no idea how I'd get something like stained glass to work... I'm sure it's just a transparent layer with a bit of tweaking, but somehow I can't believe it being that simple.
Well, it doesn't look like a full-sized cross to me, so I don't see this dragon as some landmass-sized creature or anything (exaggerating, of course XD). I would probably size the cross as man-sized, if not smaller.
Those are always fun drawings to see. Artists do creative things to practice scale. XD
