Another quick picture.
I think I'm getting better with these.
This is another scale texture test. I tried using more circular strokes to make a smoother dragon than the last picture. I also tried applying a texture to some feathered wings.
The waterfalls gave me a good bit of trouble on this picture, but I think it turned out decently in the end.

I like it! The bold outline gives it a kind of cartoon-ish feel like some of your older paintings, but the textures still keeps it very detailed and realistic.

Yes that texture is gold! And wow, feathery wings are new 
I like the dark areas on the dragon too, makes it stand out of the similar colored background

I was trying to make it stand out with a bit of contrast. The waterfall made things a bit tough, though.

That extra cliff I added obscured most of that. Adding in a bit more mist would have made that part of the background look much better. That's a very good idea.
The wings were fun to draw. Feathered wings often give me trouble, though.

This one was actually much faster than most of my pictures. It took a little longer than the Mage tower one, but it was less than half the time that Wreathed in Flame took.
It's a more ambitious picture too, with the background and all.
Not quite as epic, though.

You're quite right.
Now that I'm taking another look at it, I'm finding many such composition and anatomy issues.
Maybe I'll do a retouch... or maybe I'll just move on and try not to make the same mistakes twice.

Yep. The wings are off, the limbs are awkward...
There are definitely issues with it that I didn't see when I was working on it, but that I can notice now.
I'm thinking of doing a retouch, but I might just move on to my next picture instead. This was a rather quick one, and sometimes the quick pictures make the things you need to work on more apparent.
I'll try to avoid such problems on future pictures, though. With enough practice, effort, and advice, I'll get things right eventually.
That is a good idea, though. Using a scale texture all over the place like this can definitely be helpful when going for a rough texture, but I was trying for smooth. So, I tried to use more circular strokes...
Doing some airbrush shading, and adding texture in the well lit areas first may be a better approach. Then, the more texture I add, the rougher the scales look. If I want smooth scales, there wouldn't be much texture, and the airbrush shading would dominate.
I'll have to try that out.

Critique (Trainee)
Great drawing, Although it is a quick drawing art, it detailed nicely and well.
Smooth Catches on Dragons detail is make it one step closer to real, and pose is kinda unique that shows he's hand (Not Leg) support his upper body.
Waterfall is also nice, yet leftside waterfall is looks little bit unfinished nor skill is not concentrated, For some reason, that shadder the focus from Greatly drawn Dragon nor Right Waterfall.
Yes, I don't think there is any problem on this art except small waterfall on leftside of Art.
I also know how hard drawing is.
And I know you are working hard always.
That is reason why I respect Artists.

I think maybe someone confused about meaning of
'Devianted' and 'Dedicated'.
Deviant originally used for 'Strange' or 'Freaky' but in here, I used as meaning of 'Something different from others, Creative'. If this is site I usually go, I would never use 'Devianted/Dedicated'. But this place named 'DeviantArt', so I though 'Deviant' can meaning very important in this world.
Devianted meaning 'Creative', Extended meaning 'Quality'
Dedicated stands alone for meaning 'This Art is - Inspiring,Creative'.
If such strange end like 'Devianted' make your feel any sad, I'm really sorry.
As a Trainee, I really have a lot of thing to learn...

The waterfalls gave me trouble. I left the one on the left simple, because it seemed distracting when I added more detail.
I'll do my best to keep those things in mind, and improve on my next picture.
