Description
Art complete!This piece was quite a bit simpler than my last one, but I think the perspective and composition are a bit more elegant. That sky sure was fun to draw.
I'm trying to work on my painting technique, so this one is much less reliant on lines than my last piece. Also, I got tired of using a pre-made tree brush, so I made a new brush of my own again.
I hope you all enjoy it. Comments and criticism are always welcome, and I'll do my best to reply to every one.

This piece was made entirely with Photoshop CS3. I've been doing most of my sketching digitally lately, so it's been quite a while since I've used pencils, actually.

This is wonderful. Is he creating a snowstorm? He looks like an Ice or Frost dragon. Great use of color, texture and lighting. I think it's just about perfect.

Well, my art didn't start like this. The most important thing is to learn the techniques that go into the art you want to make. Directionless practice is less effective than working toward specific goals. Perspective and composition are always important, though.

I love your composition in this. It really gives a sense of depth and spaciousness. Though your dragon's wings couldn't actually carry your dragon due to its anatomy. They are too small and they need to connect lower on the body to give it better lift. Wingspan for most birds is twice their length.

The wingspan on this one is less than the apparent length, so it is definitely not sufficient for realistic flight. When planning this piece, I did experiment around with the proportions. I didn't want the wings to take up more space than this, because then they might interrupt the line from the breath. Making the dragon smaller could have looked more logical, but may have made it less impressive...
I think I'll have to try for some more realistic wings sometime soon. You're getting me thinking about them again.
