Description A classic afernoon storm scenario. The almost solid edge of the thundercloud is looming over the horizon and may spawn tornadoes.A bolt of lightning zips through the sky behind a lonely tree-the perfect target. This was done on a program called paint shop pro 6.Old by todays standard but i still use it.

But no-one ever will, not even me - since the file was lost years ago

Well I was doing digital art for a few years before discovering deviantART So I already had some experience before I joined

Still, this is one of the best ones from that time. Many others I submitted in my early months were pretty bad, those were deleted ages ago

Chromattix In reply to andymag13 [2011-01-08 01:44:44 +0000 UTC]

Storms have a lot more to look at I think sunshine is nice, and the detaile dimages of it taken from space are quite awe-inspiring, but storms change a lot more and are easier to appreciate, being millions of miles closer

I think I have picked your collection clean for "Features".

I would have picked them all, but I have to save room for other great Artists.

I did not see too many Halloween pieces. Maybe they are elsewhere on the Internet?

Thankyou. I wouldn't count this one feature-worthy, but it's nice knowing people sometimes bother to look at the "oldies"

Great job, i actually saw something as ominous as this over my house once, and it did spawn a torado in a town nearby.

Chromattix In reply to Maxojir [2010-05-31 00:48:24 +0000 UTC]

That would have been a cool sight with or without the tornado, storms rarely are anything impressive here anymore, seems the last decade worth of storms here have been rather lame

Thanks for faving too

The area where I live gets very . . . "interesting" storms.
And you're welcome.

That's pretty damn' cool for PsP6.

I figured that, was too much of a coincidence otherwise - especially considering the last comment on this was 6 months ago

Yeah, in those days I kne wof nothing else like Photoshop or even drawing tablets. I was totally closed off from that world and even if I wasn't I wouldn't have been able to afford any decent software anyway so I spent a good 5 years or so making the most of the least

LancelotPrice In reply to Chromattix [2010-05-08 04:36:32 +0000 UTC]

Ya done good.
Speaking of PsP, version 7.04 was pretty decent in its day. I only used a few times for radical alterations to photos, but it had more tools and a very useful interface than than 6. I played for a while with 3.11 [16 bit! gasp!!!] and 6, which is probably what I used the most, but again not for painting original work. Never developed the skills for that.

Chromattix In reply to Kykel [2008-09-01 04:42:27 +0000 UTC]

I've seen similar-looking storms before, the eerie "ridge" of turbulent clouds along the storm's front edge looks really creepy, especially when the clouds behind the rough edge are so smooth...it's pretty freaky

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kykel In reply to Chromattix [2008-09-01 05:21:38 +0000 UTC]

Bet that would be. Around here there are no large open spaces like that so you can't really see the sky creep up on you like that. That and it's usually cloudy already so the clouds just gradually start turning dark and then the storm starts. Bummer really. I'd like to see a sight like that. Not get hit by it but at least see it.
