Description And it just had to be right before the weekend...Typical

Anyway, if you are sitting there and viewing this then that means either you are still alive or Heaven isn't as exciting as you hoped (either that or Hell managed to live up to expectations ).

But at least it also means the past few days of my life weren't wasted either. Since to get this done on time it was really just work and do this. I had been planning on making a special submission for this date since over a year ago yet somehow I still managed to leave it to the last minute, though I wasn't expecting to be as busy as I am now. Thankfully I was ale to save a lot of time on the city by using some old building models I really should re-do by now, but with so many together in a dark setting they worked surprisingly well. I did also use some "real" ones though from some photo's I took a few years back too...I knew someday I'd need them, even if that someday was the last day

And as far as the 2012 mayan calendar thing goes, I even used the number 2012 for some passwords because it's easy to remember that date lol
and of course, the hype over the date... was for nothing. humans do love to imagine supposed "end of the world dates".... I wonder why...

Thanks for the compliments. Yes I think I blended the real buildings in with the models quite well I was worried about a too-obvious difference (which kinda looks cheap looking). I think humans just have an in-built fascination with their own doom. Death is a huge part of life after all

Well, I haven't spotted any major difference with the models vs photos,
you seem to have done great job hiding it.
Ah yes, death or no death, we can't live without it.

Not a sentence I ever thought I would say, but that's one gorgeous apocalyptic scene!
The mushroom clouds and building's are brilliant, no idea which ones are the building models, and which ones are the photos! a true mark of a pro right there.

What the hell are you talking about Tamers? To me this is outstanding. I could NEVER do something as detailed as this, but I suppose that even in the art world there STILL is never anything perfect for critiques.

Besides that, this is wonderful.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Chromattix In reply to MasterKarrot [2012-12-23 22:58:28 +0000 UTC]

Nope. Like all dreams (especially during childhood) it felt real...Of course, you realize that nothing in it made sense after you wake up

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MasterKarrot In reply to Chromattix [2012-12-23 23:02:39 +0000 UTC]

haha,a jumble of nonsense perhaps. Do you ever wonder if there is actually some type of sense to it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Chromattix In reply to MasterKarrot [2012-12-24 00:14:51 +0000 UTC]

I think dreams are a mixture of all the things people claim them to be, instead of just one or the other. They are a reflection of our thoughts, feelings, desires and fears. Our subconscious but also based on stuff that happened already. Not to mention good o'l randomness

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MasterKarrot In reply to Chromattix [2012-12-24 01:01:58 +0000 UTC]

^^ I am of a similar opinion. How can it be random though if it is spawned from a definite system of set parameters?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Chromattix In reply to MasterKarrot [2012-12-24 04:52:38 +0000 UTC]

Maybe the random parts are the result of certain parts of the parameters trying to be filled in when a decent connection can't be made. Like static noise halfway between two radio or TV channels

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MasterKarrot In reply to Chromattix [2012-12-24 19:51:31 +0000 UTC]

perhaps. Hopefully your brain isn't having connection problems. And even then the chemicals should move and react in a predictable and nonrandom way right?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Chromattix In reply to MasterKarrot [2012-12-24 22:56:33 +0000 UTC]

I have no idea. I think people have been trying to understand dreams since the beginning of time and I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be the one to crack the code (though it would give all those college-boys some food for thought if I did )

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MasterKarrot In reply to Chromattix [2012-12-26 00:03:54 +0000 UTC]

Haha, just like in the book "Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy" where all the best scientists in the galaxy deem a puzzle unsolvable and then a janitor at the laboratory figures it out through simple logic. XD. You never know though, imagination is more important than knowledge. There are a lot of people who know a lot but it is usually the ones with a spark of imagination that make the biggest leaps in science. And you may discover something cool just by thinking differently.

Besides such I have found this conversation both enjoyable and stimulating ,and thank you for it.

I'm praying that your not serious. Telling people that their art "HURR DURR SUCKS SANIK UNDERGROUND BALLS" when your art is nothing to take a second look at? Telling people that you've changed? There was an obvious reason why people hated you in the first place, and now I see why. Stop dude, your a major troll yourself.

Great work! So breathtaking, however I don't think we'll go like that, but rather wear usselves apart with environmental destructions and so on

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Chromattix In reply to Hera-of-Stockholm [2012-12-22 04:39:53 +0000 UTC]

Fortunately the environment can always bounce back...but it needs more time to do so than we gie it. I have for ages now believe that the biggest problem we are creating for ourselves is overpopulation Farming and using fossil fuels wouldn't be so bad if there weren't 7 billion of us doing it

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Hera-of-Stockholm In reply to Chromattix [2012-12-22 13:11:02 +0000 UTC]

No, that's a valid point. And you know the saddest thing, there's partly a way around that. Accessible and cheap contraceptions, especially for young people. Unfortunately obnoxious old religious leaders stand in the way for that to happen, protesting against condom machines being installed in schools and such. I'd love to see that these things were made more easily available and that the usage of them was promoted more than it is today. After all it helps not only against undesired poor kids, but also against a plethora of deseaces out there. AIDS for instance, which still kills, even if people in the 'rich world' has lost interest.
