EDIT:
I have finally drawn up the instructions!
Contained is three pages of templates and explanations on how to make the platron (chestplate), the shell, and how to sculpt the face and feet. The rest should be basic plushie technique

depends on the size of the doll. I personally use 1/2 a yard of green, 1/2 yard for shell body (needs length) and scraps for the bottom of the shell.

Thank you so so very much for whipping this up! Everything made total and complete sense. The only really hard part was putting the shell together but you gave a little warning about it being the hard part though. Haha I've had a blast using it and already made my fourth turtle. Haha I don't have pictures up for the first three yet, as I can't find the cable to my camera, but I do for the fourth. It's located here if you care to look.

this may be a really stupid question, but i don't know how to sew. haha. what kind of fabric would you use or does it matter?

I used fleece, which is easier to sculpt the feet and face.

Joannes fabric often has a discount bin with leftover fleece too small to sell, also they often have 50% fabric sales, especially for fleece.
