First off rules:

-personal enjoyment only. No selling these please
- Please give me credit when possible.
- send me a link to your submission, I would love to see anyones created ^_^

Now on to the template, it does seems complicated, but really if you have patience you can knock out a turtle in several hours .

EDIT:

I have finally drawn up the instructions!

Contained is three pages of templates and explanations on how to make the platron (chestplate), the shell, and how to sculpt the face and feet. The rest should be basic plushie technique .

This is cool. I'm attempting to make this for my girlfriend. Umm in regards to basic plushie technique. Any chance you can give a basic rundown of the following steps? I can sew, that's about it...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chronicdoodler In reply to TheInkedWolf [2011-02-23 19:32:12 +0000 UTC]

If you can sew thats a good start. I am not sure of your limitations but here are a few tips.

When you cut out the pieces, make sure you cut them along the same grain to avoid unusual pulling which can happen with fleece. When sewing stretchy fabric use a zigzag stitch for flexibility and strength.

With the pieces cut and ready to be sewn place the "good" sides of the fabric together and sew along the outside, leave a small hole so you can turn the piece inside out. Stuff it and sew it closed.

These are the things I had to learn when I started, but I am sure I missed a vital tip. If you feel stuck at anytime feel free to ask again and I will help you through it

quwira [2009-09-18 13:43:04 +0000 UTC]

i have a question. i've never made a plushie b4, so do u make the arms and legs first and sorta sew them in2 the body, or make the body then sew the arms and legs on that? if that makes n e sense

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

chronicdoodler In reply to quwira [2009-09-18 16:58:08 +0000 UTC]

I sew the legs on the outside, though honestly even with multiple stitches they can be a little fragile. So if you were to make it for hugging or a younger sibling you may want to sew it into the body.

chronicdoodler In reply to AngelofOrange [2009-09-02 01:51:01 +0000 UTC]

I hope he loves it, though they don't hold up too well for play. But maybe you can construct it stronger

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AngelofOrange In reply to chronicdoodler [2009-09-04 06:22:05 +0000 UTC]

He is going to be 24 on his birthday. So I'm sure he wont play with them they might go on his "Shelf of Stuff" I still have to get some more stuff for them but as soon as I finish them I will put pictures up so you can see them
