Description Yet more on integrating 2D stock with 3D - specifically, how to place rendered 3D shadows when the stock "ground" is not flat and level.

The tutorial refers to an excellent tutorial by ^joannastar on magnets in Poser, which you need for the situation we cover here. Here's the link: [link] .

That's all my tutorials for now! (I'm sure there will be more eventually.)

very very clever. Thanks for showing this. How would you do this in cinema 4d

You're welcome! Unfortunately I don't know how to do it except with Poser. All I can tell you is what features of your rendering tool you will need:

1. Lights: multiple lights where you can control their location and direction, and which cast shadows. I'm pretty sure Cinema 4D has this, though I don't know for sure.

2. A "ground plane" object, which can show shadows, and which can be distorted to mimic the shape of the stock's "ground" surfaces. (In the tutorial, the car was part of the "ground", and I raised part of the Ground Plane into an oval lump the size and shape of the car's hood.) I don't know if Cinema 4D has this at all.

3. An image editor (such as Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro) that supports layers and detailed selections such as the outline of a human figure.

Hope this helps!

Great! Warping the ground plane is one of my favorite tricks.

Is more difficult use a stock photo, than render all the scene

It can be more difficult, but not always. This tutorial is "advanced" use of stock. Many times it is much more simple.

Thank you for the !
