Description While working on part 2 of the "Stock in 3D" tutorial, I realized that there was a lot to say about lighting in 3D scenes generally. So this tutorial is partly a preparation for talking about light and shadows when combining 3D with stock. Hopefully it's also useful for those who don't plan to use stock at all.

BTW, the tutorial mentions color temperature and refers you to these comments for a link to the Wikipedia article. Here it is: [link] .

Some of you will feel that I've oversimplified the technical aspects of this material. Indeed I have! - but rest assured, most people reading the tutorial will find it MORE than technical enough. (I teach some of this, and 90% of my students get frustrated with all those numbers.)

You're welcome, and thanks for the !

I had not mentioned about point lights, that they are slow to render, especially if you make them cast shadows. But sometimes they are just what you need.

Glad it helps! I think most if not all of this can be done in Daz, I just don't know the procedure.

Oh no, I looked specifically for lighting tuts and yours is the only one that offers the specific technique I was looking for! I have never known how to show lamplight within Poser, so thanks very much!
