Description
True story. We're in the mining area, I enter dying status and stagger around unable to see anything thanks to the wavy filters. My friend is going into a panic because, she says, the game isn't letting her heal me for some reason. Then I die, she turns around, sees my corpse, and realizes she had been trying to heal a Majini the entire time.Dark areas are our bane, I swear.
I guess this makes us even in the "horribly fail to save partner" department.
I'm seriously considering putting Anime-style action lines in Sheva's action panel. What do you think?
EDIT: I went ahead and put in the action lines. What do you think? Better? Worse?

The indicator showed up just fine, she just wasn't paying attention or didn't see it or something. It probably didn't help that I was behind her.

that Indicator is really annoying, It would be hard not pay it attention 0.0 but it was in the mines? right? and one of you have the lantern? hate that part, and hate play it online, once, I gave the lantern to a guy, and got me lost 0.o

It was in the mines, but after the part with the lantern. In fact, we were right in front of the elevator at the very end of the level when we died. Awful, isn't it?

All I can tell you is my friend has poor eyesight and a bad track record of mistaking me for an enemy, and vice versa.

Hilarious! xD
The action-lines give the whole "Sheva to the Rescue" thing a nice touch for the action moment.
Gosh. This reminds me of how much I fail at the game. A different console with different controls and command buttons... and a 8 year-old boy for a pantetr who has to save me after every 5 seconds we find one of those majini guys.

lol nice one, its really odd though, so many people complain about her AI, when i played she was a great partner always backing me up etc, but when i had Chris as a partner, he was running off doin his own thing and wasting ammo and health ON HIMSELF like there was no tomorrow and kept distracting me saying "I need ammo!" i wanted to drop kick him for not using his knife and not helping me lol

I've heard a lot of conflicting reports about the AI. I wonder if it's because of what mode you have them set too?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
JineruLockheart In reply to Chrystalis [2009-08-20 17:19:33 +0000 UTC]
Perhaps. Either that or because of the way you are to your partner, you know, like always backing them up, saving them, sharing etc, like 50/50 teamwork. If not then i guess we'll never really know unless we test it out on all modes and experiment or something.

Hilarious comic
but at least your partnet didnt do something AI Chris did ((that is when I threw a granade into a crowd Chris actually went after it and blew himself up))
Luckily also with an Ai there is no team damage as Shieva enptied clips of machine guna mmo into Chris trying to shoot an enemy that was sneaking up on me
((Basically if the Ai os shooting you move to the side but be careful when doing so as one time I stepped into the range of a Chainsaw Majini O_O ))

Aww, AI Chris just wanted to play fetch.
Mmm...emptying a load of hot lead into your partner does not sound like a good way to protect them from approaching enemies.

I got a mental image of Chris with dog ears and a tail holding a granade in his mouth
and yeah Luckily for me team damage was off otherwise Chris would of been cut in half O_O

Lol. Haven't had this happen yet. The expressions in this panel are excellent, ha ha. I typically play single-player, so these sort of situation rarely present themselves. I do get fed-up with the mining area though; it's so dark and it's true that Sheva picks up the lantern, but stands *behind* Chris. Uh, duh, woman. He's taller than you and his shoulders span the width of Texas . . .
Oh well. Good times anyway.

Thank god my partner didn't do this while we were playing (he likes to ignore my cries for help altogether, though). Now I actually know there's still much stupid mistakes left that even we didn't make, good to know

Gah, I hate the mines! It's scary the first time and annoying all the others! Especially since I always give AI Sheva the lamp, but she's determined to shield herself with Chris' massive bulk, so I end up casting a massive shadow over the Majini.
Chris: Sheva, shine the lantern!
Sheva: Roger!
Chris:... Take a step to the right and try that again.
Wait, how did your friend fail to heal you? When you enter DYING status you start flashing a giant blue/orange ring around your character that goes through scenery like X-ray vision? Is your friend blind, or was there a Majini placed perfectly between the two of you?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Chrystalis In reply to Paladin12345678 [2009-08-10 02:35:35 +0000 UTC]
Sounds like the AI has the same problem my friend does when it comes to shining the lantern. The difference being my friend likes to run off in another direction without telling me and leave me in total darkness. >_>
This didn't happen during the lantern-bearing part though. This happened right before the elevator at the very end of the level, just to add insult to injury.
My friend never seems to notice those glowing rings. It takes her forever to find me when I'm waiting for a team push or something, too. The fact she refuses to look at the map doesn't help.
Also, I was directly behind my friend, and there was a majini right in front of her which...she thought was me. Considering how often she mistakes me for an enemy and vice versa, even in broad daylight, she may well have a vision problem she isn't telling me about.

Wow... um... is your friend secretly a six-year-old or something?
Heh, I find the minimap so goddamn convenient I'm always really annoyed in the mines when it shuts down. Also, there's even a button specifically for locating your partner!
My one of my friends has the same recognition problem. Reminds me of the time he was playing Far Cry 2 and barged into a room looking for a mission target. The guy stood up and started talking. One burst of silenced MP5 fire later, the mission failed. My friend lived and, with extensive therapy, may even walk again.
There's also my other friend who charges around wasting ammo, refusing to listen to me and running in the opposite direction while I stagger around dying.
Of course, now that I bought infinite ammo for the Hydra, everything is better!

She's eight years older than I am, actually. Pretty new to video games in general, so I guess she has that excuse.
I've found that that one collapsible bridge in the village area is reeeeal good for venting frustrations when partners get irritating. More specifically, letting go of the crank while they're halfway across and watching them fall into the pit is very cathartic.

(can't stop laughing) OMG too hilarious!!
XDD That's soooo messed up X3 I did something similar to that with my older bro actually~
We were both in need of health, so we both healed ourselves with a first aid spray. Yeah, my bro was mad, because he thought that I told him to heal us, when I said "I'll heal us" The worst part about it: RIGHT after that, the exeuctioner coms and slices my older bro, putting him in dying status -__-
In short: We had to restart the level XD (sorry forthe long comment)
