frankenbane... I like all the mask designs. You do like making your tech look really heavy though, same with your shoes most of the time. Its an interesting choice that I've often admired in its graphic appeal.Β

Maybe it's because of colours, but he reminds me of Krieg from Borderlands 2. Good job anywayΒ Β

Now this is just neat. Although I think Bane's look in Dark Knight Rises is the most neat of them all. And badass to boot.

He looked like the real Bane, shame he never acted like it.

This Bane is awesome! I kinda like the whole: make their old costume outta their asylum gear type thing. Scarecrow did that with his asylum outfit. This one sorta reminds me of that. Definate fave.

I assumed he would be small in Arkham City, considering he's supposed to be overdosed in Asylum. Oh well, still awesome.
Like the knuckle dusters, make them himself?

Outstanding!! Bane with a bit of the madness of Hannibal Lecter but with all his usual grandiosity.

Great work, but i always thought this version of Bane and the one in Arkham Asylum was a bit...to much and over the top.

Wow... this is just... wow, I originally found your gallery by mistake and thought it was some fake or something, then I browsed a bit more and.... wow. Ha, but aside from my rambling, I find interesting how Dark Knight Rises (Or was it Rising?) has the Hannibal lector esque face mask like you have here. Love the art by the way, I'd kill to have your skill man.

I always reserve my judgment of movie designs until I see them in movement and 'lit'... some designs I though were crap end up working GREAT once in movement and dramatically lit, AND viceversa, sometimes u see a great design in a still photo, and totally falls appart once in movement!

man, you should do the artwork for batman 3... maybe you can do a nolanized design of let's say the riddler, or the mad hatter, or someone else, and send it to warners?

Long time no comment haha...
I really like the stitches, they're logical seeing as his skin would be fairly torn and stretched due to his Venom/Titan intake.
I really like the Hannibal Lector style face mask aswell, something I wouldn't have come up with.
Also - You mentioned before that you wanted the mask to be painted on by guards who mocked Bane. Is that the idea on the two red sketches? or was that just trying out different looks?

I like these designs alot. Not to diss the final design, but these just feel more "real" when it comes to his size and muscles, but hey this game's Bane was a prisoner so making him oversized behemoth wasn't that big of a deal for me. Loving the designs here!

I do quite like the Lectar style face mask. Maybe a bit orangey for Bane though overall. How long do the character designs take?

Chuckdee In reply to happymonkeyshoes [2009-12-08 18:33:39 +0000 UTC]
thanks Man ...I think they ended up using the Hannibal Lecter idea in one of the regular prisoners... as far as to how long designs take, it really depends; some you hit the mark right away and they only take a couple days, some can take weeks (between work time and back and forth changes and complete redos).

Yeah they did, which I was chuffed about as I'm a fan of those films.
Its cool to see the work ethic. I always worry I don't do enough design work on some characters.

hahah... I think I tend to 'overdesign' them most of the times... go figure! ... then again, my working style is usually to 'over do it', then I scale back if necessary... it's hard to know just how much to leave because of the new rendering engines and how much detail you can do in 'em!
