Description Liara T'Soni, Chief Science Officer of the United Starship Normandy, runs a sensor scan of some ancient artifact found at the fringe of the galaxy, which may serve as some kind of relay to areas beyond the galaxy's edge"

Here's my first official rendition of Liara.

I decided to do something a little bit whimsical with her since there is already so much 'standard' fan art of her out there

I'll be doing a more sexy rendition of her later, pairing her up with my "Joanna Sheppard" character ^_^

An Asari, from the game Mass Effect (although I think I've done better versions since thanks to morphs created by others): masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Asar…

Cool idea! Yeah this is definitely not the standard Liara fanart.

I never thought I would see Star Trek combined with Mass Effect. I have to say this Liara looks good in a Star Trek uniform.

Thanks ^_^

I didn't do as well with the blending of the 'lekku' with the skin this time, though.

I found a blue-ish skin over at ShareCG (that's now gone), that had the 'freckles' that Liara seems to have in the game.

Problem was those freckles were all over the skin's body, and huge

So I tried to modify a regular skin to match the face, but it came out a bit lighter than I wanted.

Practice makes perfect, though (and I have one other Asari idea I want to render ^_^).

Nothing like blue in TOS and what's wrong with a little levitation?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Chup-at-Cabra In reply to MrDockEllis [2010-04-07 19:23:52 +0000 UTC]

The 'levitation' is more an illusion, she is firmly on the 'ground', but with no shadows being cast on it it gives the idea that she is floating over it.

I have hoped that in future ST films they'd bring back those two Bridge alien characters from the classic 70's tv animated show.

I remember them; Arex the three-armed/legged alien, and M'Ress the Catwoman

They did reappear in one of the books written by Peter David, who explained their absence by way of some temporal time warp they were dragged into on an away mission, that shunted them to the era of the "Next Generation"

"Arex" and "M'ress", voiced by James Doohan and Majel Barrett-Roddenberry, I believe.
Time warp, how convenient. Couldn't have they just created characters that were related to them??

as said by Angry Joe (from the Angry Joe show)

He had more fun playing 10 hours Mass effect than 3 weeks of Star Trek Online

I've heard mixed reviews of ST: Online, but I don't think I'll pick it up.

Waiting for Old Republic (made by Bioware, of course ).

STO didn't do well, especially with the huge hype it had for star trek fans

Although I am a Trek fan myself, I kind of predicted that this would probably fail with the uber-trek fans, who would nit-pick anything about the game that was not 'canon' to the setting.

Of course, that's not to say that "Star Wars" fans are any better; I've read about the minor uproar that was caused when "Clone Wars" introduced the 'pacifist" Mandalorians

Clone wars sucked period.. Then again there are a lot of things in SW that sucks.. Usually cause George Lucas doesn't care what happens to his story as he says "Only the films are real, look at the books, comics, cartoons as "what ifs" "

Well, not to continue a long discussion here, but my 2 cents:

I started out really disliking "Clone Wars" (the new 3D version, btw). Thought it was only a 'kiddiefied" version of the movies.

As I began to watch more and more episodes, though, it began to grow on me.

For one, it gives us a chance to see Annakin as the Hero Jedi he was supposed to be before "The Fall" (before this, in the movies, he was just a whiney bitch ^_^).

We get to see more on the clones and how they interact with each other and the jedi, and new, interesting characters are introduced (like Cad Bane the Bounty Hunter).

And, of course, I find Ahsoka kind of disturbingly hot

Here is something funny about how fans view Star Wars, and George Lucas (and even though its tongue in cheek, I pretty much agree with everything said in it): [link]

Chris Hansen will have a word with you about Ashoka.

Though I always hated prequels since you already know what's going to happen. Obiwan and the rest of the Jedi are killed, Anakin is Vader, and Ashoka probably dies.

She has to, if she was knighted and left Anakin, Anakin would've became a Jedi Master, but he's still a Knight in Ep 3, therfore she died, somehow or disappeared and he failed her.

Oh well.

point is, there are a lot of uncanon things there not to nit pick. When Dooku meets Anakin in ep 3, that was the second time they met since Geonosis. They never battled each other in the animated film nor did they ever work together to escape pirates.

As much as I like the show, that is a main sticking point with me as well: How do they explain away Ahsoka, and Annakin/Vader's seeming memory loss of her ever after?

This being primarily a kids show, I doubt they will kill her off; I just hope by the time of the last season they address the issue.

It is a kid show, but have children seen episode 3? How the jedi's clone trooper buddies all turn on them and shoot them in their backs?

It was supposed to end dark, but oh well.

Now supposedly this saga takes place between The Clone Wars (The 2D animated one) season 2 and season 3. So somewhere along the lines she dies when the Clones switch to their phase 2 armor.

Actually, she is on the floor, there is just no shadow being cast on it.

Look carefully and you'll see her right boot toe kind of imbedded in the floor, unfortunately (may do a re-render later).
