Woot! I finally finished this picture! >: D I took SO LONG for me to finish it. colored pencil for the body. Watercolor for the actual tree. Acrylic for the flowers and leaves and chalk pastel for the sky. @_@Stupid EVIILLL scanner. It screwed up all the pretty color ;_;
This was my big projet I hinted about sometimes and I did this during my art classes every saturday. I actually drew this in spring and thats where I got my inspiration. In real life it looks SO much better and I had heaps of trouble trying to scan it in. You might see some wierd 'crack like things' in the picture because I had to scan it in 3 different way and piece it all together. Alot of the areas are kind of gray-ish because it wouldn't stick flat on the scanner because of the size. I apologize in the quality but I hope you'll like the picture! >w< HAIR TOOK FOREVER I TELL YOU!
now that i think about it.. why do i use such cheap art products? =_= oh yeah.. im broke XD
Used: crayola colored pencils (oh yeah~) only a few edits for with prisma (because after a lot of layerscrayola ceases to color); chalk pastel (some cheap stuff again..); acrylic paints

changed the image.. I just ran it through photoshopcs2 for some contrast becuase as stated above.. my scanner is not that great =_=;;

ahh thank you >__< but the scanner made everything pretty much lightly .. the ribbons are just blue up there but irl its actually almost like royal blue =3= ahh poo. wat happened is what happened. but now i lost my digital camera so no taking a photo ;_;

ahh poor cameras.. always something bad happens to them.. dropped in the ocean, dropped on cement.. lost, breaks because of frustrated owners wacking on them..

wow! you did such a nice job on this one! its so pretty, too ^^ i think that it is so colorful and nice already, i just wonder what the real one must look like Oo (since scanners, as you know, are notorious for chewing up pictures ;_; )

yup ;_; im going to try and get a digital camera and take a picture of it and just post a link up somewhere to it.. so maybe you can actually see all the colors.. *sigh* after i find someone who knows how to work this thing >o<

XD thanks.. but sadly 'nof it seems that i lost my camera ;_; ah darn it the only time i actually need it its gone (its actually just my parent's camera.. for trips and such XD) just my luck =3= but my cousin said she'd let me borrow hers. yay!

You're so good at colored pencils. I just know it's not my thing so that's why I suck at it and don't use it. Digital is the way I like to go, don't know why though, it's somehow easier for me.
You take art classes? I've been thinking about taking some cause I think it would be useful

yup i take classes. Classes are really useful to learn techiniques and things that you wouldn't know unless you had classes or you expierimented alot. Plus you get to learn from a teacher who's experienced in art!
I don't know digital just really doesn't feel too natural for me i like to feel it in my hand I dunno i have better control and when i use traditional so it doesn't matter if I can't undo I can find a way around it XD and thank you for all your compliments >////< Sorry i can't answer them all indivisually.. that would make this post longer than it already is!

I should totally take classes. My mom was talking about it too, but she's so busy she forgets to really look into it. Poor mommy! T-T
Yeah, it all depends on the artist really. That's a really good reason to like traditional
The only thing I can do with my hands is the drawing part, and I put all my effort in that. I'm not too good at inking and coloring by hand because my hand is accustomed to sketchy strokes and when I have to trace over the lines and color in with a steady hand I mess up a lot. So I never really tried to improve my traditional skills but went to digital

ahh i'm trying to be able to both >__< I think im improving on digital. For inking i use kinda a sketchy stroke but more controlled. and for coloring i use the same stroke to XD but i guess more relaxes =3= digital is all.. i dunno... just all different @_@

yeah it is different. I don't know, I just decided to practice more with digital and focus on it so I did. I suppose I think it looks nicer, but I definitely like and appreciate traditional media.
