oh my, how I love the colonial pug XD

Ironically, pugs come from China, so perhaps he should be in old Canton

This particular picture reminds me of the Blacksad-comics. I love their drawing-style and yours, too, of course .

I like the atmosphere of the piece. I'm rather envious of you, I could never use watercolour sensibly. Or, for that matter, any kind of paint.
You handled the background well, the small details are amazing.
I only have one little thing I dislike in this, and that should be the pug's hand holding the cigar. For me, it seems a bit too feminine. For a male pug, I'd have imagined something more sturdy.

Either way, I admire the picture. You can almost feel the laziness of a warm afternoon while looking at it.

I love this picture and your style. Always a treat to find these in my dev-watch mesgs. Would love to have a book with this sort of art in it.

Irgendwie muss ich an Loriot denken, wie er die Menschen mit Hunden ersetzte und wie er von einigen Seiten dafΓΌr gerΓΌgt wurde.

Die Emotion kommt wirklich sehr gut rΓΌber.

Try it, I think that you could like it a lot. It's a famous french comic and a big inspiration for many artist, with very political and touching storys and great characters. I have to admit that I absolutely love it!! ^_^

And by the way, I like your style a lot, especially your lineart.

Hello,
I love all of your work, but the Anthro are my favorites. Mr.McHaggis, Colonial Pug and of course the drunken Geese always make me smile. Keep them coming. I check your page every other day looking for something new and revisit my favorites for inspiration.

The perspective especially does. Have you ever checked out Stephen Player? He lays down watercolour in an amazing way. Also, can I ask what colors you have in your palette to mix with?

This somehow reminds me of "around the world in 80 days" cartoon I watched as a kid, or Alfred Jodokus Kwak! So brings a lot of happy memories to the surface. Nice job, loving the atmosphere !

Oh, too funny! Love the cut glass decanter, the old style ink blotter, the elephant figurine and the fly whisk. The details totally make this piece! Lovely ink line and deft handling of the watercolor. Kudos on a wonderful piece!
