I understand you all too well. I'm a guy and all my closest friends are gay (I find many straight people to be assholes)., so I guess I took the misinterpretation quite a bit personally.

Honour killings are fine in the countries that these cultures are the norm, as they're the norm. An American deciding to honour kill is probably mentally unstable, but someone native to a country where honour killings are fine think it's fine.
