True story.It sucks when people think you can't get a decent grade because you're a slow learner. WTF??
I am a slow learner in most subjects (exept science and algebra), it can take me 3 weeks to understand something that can take only one week to my classmates.
But, I can usually make it in the end, and I can menage to get a D, or even a C at times. I just need to... take my time.
'nother example: I know a guy who is dyslexic, but despite that, the mojority of his grades are Bs. He's also very good at history, and he even offered to help me with that, since I suck at that shit. And all that despite the fact he's a slow learner.
Everyone's different. Some people just need some more time to learn (I'm not only talking about people with dyslexia, ADHD, etc, but also about people who are simply slow learners but don't have any disorder). Also, everyone has a little of difficulty in at least one subject. They just need to take their time.

True story here! I work really hard and have a pretty decent GPA, but sometimes I feel like I'm never gonna graduate till I'm over 60 because I can't handle more than one class per quarter and math pretty much killed me so I'm scared to go back to college after a long hiatus. Also, my ADD doesn't help much.

I honestly hate to be a slow learner (Even in stuffs I like, example drawing), understanding things way later than everybody. This takes from you a lot of time, that, if you culd learn normally you could already have realized some project.

when it comes to math i always fail and sometimes i don't understand most things in math.
the kids in my class think that they are sooooΒ intelligent because they know math,the sad truth is they are notΒ intelligent they are immature and act like 5 year old brats.Β

I have a slow processing speed (a generous gift from my dad), but I am actually smarter than a good portion of my peers. I may not be the quickest person to memorize a fact, finish a test, or write an essay. But rest assured I always know what I'm doing when I'm doing it.

I'm slow when it comes to math. In fact, someone who I hated (but is now a good friend) mocked me because of my bad math skills, but my friends and boyfriend at the time told me that I make up for the lack of math by the use of my writings, as I've been told I can write a fairly good story.

let's say that I'm just less intelligent than most of people of my age,
I'm 26, but there are plenty of stuff I can't understand correctly, such as how understand the daily challenges of a grown person, how to understand economics or politics (and how this affect me), how to understand how money works in a more complicated level, I have problems expressing myself while I talk and I tend to have problems pronouncing certain words, tend to repeat what I say, make grammar mistakes when I type, and there are times I don't understand what others say to me or forget what people tell me just few seconds after they do, no matter how much atenttion I pay, I got fired from plenty of jobs because I couldn't understand the simpliest rules, specially what had to do with paper work and I can't improve my artistic work regardless of all my efforts and years practicing, I understood that after doing some of those "before and after memes" and realized how little I can improve.Β
I have no mental disorder or retardation from what doctors have said, is just that I'm not intelligent enough for certain stuff and I just have to learn how to live among the boundaries of my intellectual skills, because regardless of all of that, life goes on and even if not all of us understand it the same way we have to learn how to deal with it in our own way
I'm not very intelligent, but there's plenty of people who are very clever, but they are just slower than those around them and all they need is support and help from friends, family and teachers, so anybody can reach show their true and unique potential in their own propper time.

Amen, I have ADHD (diagnosed by a doctor/ specialist) and get distracted all the time, and a friend of mine said that they refused to play with me so I could get into the 8th grade with them. Inside I though: Uh, hello? Girl, I took the SATs, not you. Outside I simply didn't talk to her, cause I had enough.

This happened to me too. I usually pick upthings quickly but if I really want to understand it, it takes me at least a few times longer to get it. Luckily my teachers are nice so they are very leniant with grades, but I still have crack down and study if I want to get anything at all. I even had to technically repeat a year of school because of it.
Though I can now pick up things semi- quickly than before, my brother just struggles. Thanks to the stupid educational system of common core! He can't can't understand jack! So I have to try and our family has to help him get up to speed!

Everyone has their own pace of learning. Better to learn at a slow and steady pace than not to learn anything at all.
