Description I made a stamp like this one for sexualities, now here's one for mental disorders.

I hate it when mental disorders are turned into stereotypes, and after that into fads.
"AI AM GOOD AT MATH, AI AM ASOCIAL, AI MUST HAVE AUTISM!1!!!!"
"LULZ, I'M HYPER, I MUST HAVE ADHD, LOL"
"AN HOUR AGO I WAS HAPPY, BUT I'M SAD NOW, I MUST HAVE BIPOLARISM"
I hate when people talk like that.
HFA/Asperger's, ADHD/ADD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, OCD, multiple personality disorder, and many others, have all turned into fads, something everyone should have, something you should be proud of, something to brag about on your web page, something that makes you cooler than other, "normal" human beings.
I'm not saying people should be ashamed of having a mental disorder or hide it from everyone like if it was something wrong you did, because you wasn't the cause of it, and I think that you can sometimes talk about it with someone, if you want. But being proud of it seems really stupid to me, as well as bragging about it with people. I don't see why someone should be proud or ashamed of having a disorder since they weren't the cause of it. Someone could just accept it, you mustn't necessarily be proud or ashamed of it, but, whatever.
The fact it that too many people use these disorders as fads, expecially Asperger's, ADHD and bipolarism at the moment. Asperger's most of all.
I clearly remember that, 9-10 years ago, when I was diagnosed with Asperger's and ADHD, no one knew what Asperger's was, but schizophrenia was the fad at the moment and everyone claimed to have it.
Or, 5 years ago, borderline PD was the fad, and even if Asperger's was alredy well-known, everyone claimed to have borderline. I can remember some people I know that at the time said "I don't have that stupid disorder called Asperger's, I have borderline", and now, after five years, when Asperger's is the new fad, they claim they have Asperger's. How stupid.
I hate when disorders are turned into fads because of some idiots that want to be different. Some people end up not believing people with the real disorders, or just assuming that a person "doesn't have it" because their disorder is not like the general stereotype.
Like, I've had someone telling me I was not intelligent enough to have Asperger's. Or another one who said that I smiled and laughed too much to have it.
I can't really trust people on the web when they claim they have a disorder, and I don't blame people if at first they don't take me seriously about that. It's easy to recognize the difference between someone who truly has one and someone who doesn't IRL, but it's not on the web. I usually observe them. I think that, if someone makes such a big deal about it, brags about it, feels cooler because of it and talks about it like if it was a stereotype and people with it were all the same, they probably don't have it. Ahw, well. My opinion at least.

Thank you.
I'm tired of people thinking there're fads of some kind and trying to show them off or get sympathy for something they don't actually have, and I find it offensive.

I have also found more than 30 fanfics with the main character having PTSD, or some other kind of disability, it's ridiculous.

I agree 100%, and that's coming from someone who has low-level Asperger's Syndrome. It doesn't affect me as much as it should, in fact I'm BARELY on the spectrum. Regardless, I still have it. My mother used to cry herself to sleep when I was a toddler because I always sat alone and I never interacted with ANYONE, EVER. I was a complete loner.

Now, people are acting like they have a form of Autism when they obviously don't. I've been bullied for over 10 years BECAUSE of what my Asperger's does to me. I'm GLAD it doesn't affect me as much as it should. The only time I pull the Asperger's card is when I HAVE to, like when I have to inform a teacher that I have it, or when I'm being asked about it, or even when it comes up at Sunday night dinner. I don't wear it as a freaking badge. People who pretend don't know what it feels like, and because of my Asperger's, I have a short temper fuse. When they act like they do, it incinerates that fuse so fast that you wouldn't believe it.

But muh victim complex! If I can't use my self diagnosed mental illnesses then how else am I going to avoid holding myself accountable for being an insufferable little cunt? Unfortunately all these labels, sexuality, gender, and mental illness included, are seen as a rite of passage into the SJ world of tumblr.Β  I am gay, have asperger's, anxiety and depression, but I see them as worthless labels and not a reflection of who I actually am as a person. And I don't flash those things on display like they're a fucking badge of honor. I hate how tumblr prizes labels over actual personality. In fact I hate this special snowflake culture BS on tumblr in general. I've been on this cancerous cesspool of a website for four years and I gotta say I'm just about done.... and the worst part is their antics are starting to leak out into the real world. I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

You can't forget those who act as though they are insane.
Seriously that is the most common one. Everywhere on YouTube that has something to do with a dark topic there is always that person who says,
"I always watching these videos I'm insane," like bitch no. If you were insane you'd most likely be hearing voices and having real urges (not urges that you decide to cause) to cause harm to others. Also they probably would want to act like that if they really were obsessed with someone like Jeff The Killer, they obviously weren't like that before they saw that character. Not to mention you wouldn't share that with people as though it's a prize. Being insane is horrible, you definitely don't want that type of lifestyle. It doesn't matter how many dark videos you watch or whatever,
you aren't insane.

One thing that I hate is when people misinterpret a mental illness and use it as an insult. If you've ever been in the FNAF fandom, everyone calls you autistic. According to the internet, if you like a game, you're autistic-and then everyone acts like it's a really bad thing and just because you have it you are stupid af. DUDE! it shows how she is a good person and mother from protecting her brother and sister from the abuse.

Asperger's SyndromeΒ is NOT a mental disorder. It is a neurological difference. How do I know? I was diagnosed with it in second grade. Do not useΒ it as an excuse, and do not think higher of yourself than others.Β I am proud of my Asperger's and I am proud that I am different. Ironically, according to Wikipedia/other websites, people with Autism/Asperger's have a higher IQ than the people that don't have it. Even if it IS a slight difference, it's a possibility.

If people have an extremely low IQ, cannot spell words too well, or cannot write, they may have Dyslexia. *Shrug* I have a Dyslexic older brother, who has a missing muscle in his right hand, but he's very good with wood and making things.

You have absolutely no idea how much I understand this. It makes me so upset when I hear someone say "I'm so OCD about ____." Or stuff like that. Thanks so much for putting this on the web! More people should understand this! I have Obsessive compulsive disorder... So bad I got suicidal. Now I am receiving treatment for it ( by choice) and am on medication. Road to recovery*! (kind of... really just to learn how to manage it) People joke about it or don't take it seriously... It hurts because I almost took my own life because of how overwhelming the thoughts got and how much sleep I was losing worrying about stuff. ( this went on for several years) Β Oh god it was awful. I was diagnosed - officially almost three years ago. So I am being very serious about this. My SSRI's are helping ALOT.
Would you mind if I were to put this into my "stampies" widget on my page? I collect stamps that I agree with/that say something about me. And I am so happy to see someone else agree with me on the subject and understand it. <3Β

No one probably read this book, but it's called, "Out of My Mind". The book is from the point of view of a 11 year old girl with a mental disorder and she can't speak or even move kinda. She is smart, but literally can't show it. She hates her self for having this disorder, and definitely doesn't use it to make people feel sorry for her. I don't like seeing this. My nephew has a disorder, he goes to school, has friends, is always happy, and is never sad almost. He doesn't beg for attention like some do. Not all of them are like that. Yeah, most of them are. But, not all of them. I'll be honest, I don't have a disorder, and never have had oneΒ

Take this totally legit test to see if u got mental disorderz!

1. Do you like to wash your dishes and put them away? Then you have OCD!
2. Did you feel sad when your dog died? Then you have depression!
3. If you don't like to go to parties with billions of people in it, and you don't fail at school, then you have autism/aspergers!
4. Did you feel sad when you broke your phone, but then became happy when you got a new one? Then you're bipolar!
5. Do you sometimes daydream? Then you haveΒ schizophrenia!
6. Do you remember sad events when something sad happens to you? Then you got PTSD!
7. Do you get excited? Then you have ADHD!
8. Do you want to be "different"? Then give yourself ANY, and I mean ANY, mental disorder!
