Description
This is a Rockman X model of Vava (aka Vile) from Rockman X3. It is sealed through use of plastiweld model cement and painted with Tamiya Paints (Flat White, Flat Blue, Flat Light Blue, Flat Red, & Flat Yellow). I only used the sticker for the head emblem.Related content

I'm actually retooling this kit as we speak. I want to make it look nice. I'm sure when I finish (exact moment to be exact) KOTO will announce the new an improved Vava model kit.
Then I will whisper 'damn it' and begin the process anew.

I bought it about 5 years ago... or more... been so long I'm not really sure the when and where. It was a bit of a search is all I remember and they were a pain to find. I'm not even sure if you can find it outside of the dreaded Ebay beast.

For the record, in case you're wondering, I plan on being able to somehow get two Vavas, make the Vava Mk II, and use the other one to make the original, purple Vava. That'll be hard to do

Good luck. I'd say your best bet would be to buy an original X kit because his armor matches the purple versions better than the MK II's. Probably have to custom design the shoulder cannon. The MK II's is so much smaller than the original's.

That's what I'm thinkin' too. I can take a hobby-knife and outline lightly where I need to colour one part purple, and the other part gold.
Well, I'm not too good at custom-making stuff, so I'll prolly just repaint the shoulder cannon.
Hehe, I could conceiveably make my Rock Man X OC out of the various models too If only I could make Alia-chan

Damn. I was able to find the Ride Armour at another site, but they don't have Vava. I can't access eBay either, so that just kicks me in the ass. If you ever find another site that still sells Vava (Or if you're ever interested in selling yours, which I doubt, hahaha) please let me know?

It's really easy. Hell, if I can do it, you can do it. Haven't found any Vava kits since then, either, so might be your best shot to get him and a few nice upgrades of Zero and X. Actually, I might invest in a few of the X kits I'm seeing here. Should have a nemesis to Vajurilla and Vava, though, I think Vava in general is a nemesis to everyone.
And yeah, fuck you X8 for turning Vava into some mindless lackey to Sigma versus the loose cannon he was in the manga!

Heh, my OC is Vava's younger not-evil brother
Hey now, I loved X8. It's my fav X game, actually.
I never read the manga... though I have seen screens of a few pages. Mostly of Dr. Cain making X's and Zero's lives miserable with bad-tasting drinks and hair-braids

I was reading the manga on a site. I'd need to be on my home computer to find the addy but the guy has been translating it over the last few years and was almost to the chapter where Vava, Zero, and X have their big finale from the original X.
I liked X8 as a game, but Vava was portrayed very weakly versus how he comes off in the other games as half a bubble off. That's the Vava I love to see. Come on Maverick Hunter X2 and X3 to put Vava as the secret playable character. Even though I never played Maverick Hunter X in the first place.
I'd say the modding would have to be done after a great deal of research. I know that sucks when a person wants to put together their kit, but sometimes it needs to be done to get it right. Most of the time you can only get one shot at these things, especially with an out of production kit like X's.

I'd love to read the manga. How far along does the manga go? Does it span all the way to X8?
I didn't think Vava was portrayed weak in X8. Afterall, he does what he wants, and I just felt he wanted to go along with this particular plan. I'll tell you what REALLY pisses me off. Dynamo. Vava should've been in X5, and Dynamo has absolutely no reason to even BE in X6, which is my least fav of the series, I believe.
Do you know how to do extensive modding like that?

As for the mangas, I think they span to X4 under that current writing team. From then on it becomes a satirical 4-Koma of the X series mocking everything.
Yeah, Dynamo was a joke but that's how Capcom plays it out, put in a new character and shit up the games. At least one thing I liked about X6 above most of the Playstation X games is the bosses were getting damn difficult and not straightforward. The battles against High Max and Gate were some of the most challenging I had seen in the series and least straightforward.
Yeah, I have no clue on how to do that level of modding. I'm still learning a lot of things and that one is something I'm still reading on in my spare time.

Hehe, well the X7 4Koma was awesome I can relate to a lot of that.
A lot of people hate X7, but I loved it. X8 is still my fav, but X7 is great too, I think.
Well, I hated Dynamo, 'cause it really should've been Vava. Afterall, before his death in X3, he did promise X that he'd be a plague on X for the rest of his life, not unlike Sigma. Don't you think X5 would've been a lot better with Vava instead of Dynamo? Or if Dynamo turned out to be Vava in a new armour or something at the very LEAST? 'Cause Dynamo in X6 is just effing pointless. The only reason I'm glad he's there, is so I could get 9999 Nightmare Souls without tryin'.
I hated X6 for a lot of reasons. First of all, Keiji Inafune, the creatour of Rock Man and Rock Man X and Rock Man Zero, wanted to end the X series with X5. Zero's death at the end of X5 would herald to the beginning of Zero 1. What happened is, the team went ahead and made X6 behind his back without tellin' him, totally screwing everything up. They didn't know what he would've had in mind so they just made everything hard as hell (ie - spikes EVERYWHERE) At the last minute, he found out, and tried to fix things by giving Zero a personalized ending that takes place after the events of all the X games. Then he came up with Axl, and an idea to end the X series once and for all, and X7 and X8 were born.
Statistical reasons I hate X6 involve the extreme level of difficulty. A lot of the game was based on pure dumb blind luck, and didn't make for any true challenge that could be overcome. At that point, they were just being cheap. Case in point, the Nightmare Effect that every level has on one another, and collecting the eight Armour Capsules, just for one example. Everything else is just absolutely ridiculous. Case in point, Metal Shark Prayer's stage, and Zero's version of the stage after High Max's defeat. With virtually no margin for error, it was absolutely ridiculous.
Although, in X6's own defense, I did enjoy that the final boss was so amazingly susceptable to multi-hit combo attacks. Sigma's amazingly weak to standard sword attacks in that regard, even on harder, more extreme difficulty settings, and dies within seconds. Shadow X and Zero are the two best at that point. I also enjoyed how much they involved Alia-chan into the storyline, 'cause it made it much easier to write my Rock Man X OC into the storyline, and give him the spotlight for just one game, due to his affection for Alia-chan. Finally, I did enjoy X7, X Command Mission, and X8, so I can't hate X6 too much for that.
If you ever wanna hear 'bout my Rock Man X OC, lemme know, by the way.
I think I'll stick with modding by painting and parts-swapping, in order to make Vava Mk I, lol

Yeah, I remember reading about the debacle of the X5-X6 and Zero series.
X7 showed a lot of promise, especially with the whole 'alternative' time line it was going with from the Zero timeline. Though the game suffered some terrible cameras and annoying bosses spewing the same lines over and over and over and over, I thought it showed the series was going to finally try new things. Then X8 came along and went back to basically the same old formula and cheesed up the characters versus how dark the designs were getting in X4-X6. If they ever hit X9 (which I doubt), I hope they make an attempt to go back to free ranging levels versus the linear rail levels.
Command Mission had serious promise but the story just let me down. In the first hour I already saw the Redips/Spider betrayal angle. They should really invest in a good write team to create a darker story that the series seems to want to go with but can't due to the 'kiddie' nature of the Rockman series as a whole.
Yes, Dynamo was a small speed bump in the X-Hunters class of enemies. X6 got him right being the independent asshole trying to become powerful. What I would have liked to see is a legitimate enemy in the vein of Vava, Vajurilla FF, etc... to be your nemesis. Actually, Vajurilla was the hardest X-hunter to battle in all the series. I enjoyed seeing and fighting Vava, but Vajurilla's speed and his attacks made him damn difficult to fight, even with the proper weapon at your disposal.

I really liked X7. Sure, it's not the best, but it's a whole lot better'n some of the X series games. The only REAL problem I had was with X's voice actour. I thought everything else was awesome. I liked the new stuff they tried out. I didn't have any real problem with the bosses or the camera or levels or anything. The only problem I had with the bosses, is that you can't beat them when you're not powered up. And since I only fight them when I'm powered up, it's not much of a problem.
I sure hope they don't make X9. After X8's ending, it would be a crime to make an X9, unless it was superiour in absolutely every aspect. X8 was an absolute masterpiece, and in my opinion, the very best of the entire X series. I even like the new character designs, and everything else. Tell me it wasn't shocking when you first discovered that Sigma wasn't the ultimate evil!
What was wrong with X Command Mission's story? I liked it. I figured Spider and Redips were like brothers or something, myself, 'cause of the name. I thought X Command Mission was amazing, myself. I was afraid it'd be a horrible game, since they don't often make RPG's for any Rock Man games, but they proved me wrong with this one.
Dynamo shouldn't have been in the X series at all. He had absolutely no rhyme or reason to the story in X6 at all. He didn't even appear in the final levels, or the story's final events. And he just disappears into the annals of time after that, never to be mentioned again. I hated him, 'cause it seemed like he was just an outright Mary Sue, and not a well-balanced character at all.
I don't prefer to have a challenge. I prefer that the fight is fun. It's not fun for me if he kills me every five minutes, y'know? I didn't like fighting Vajurilla (I can never remember how to spell his, or Byte's Japanese names) Interestingly enough, I've never fought their combined form in X3. I always make sure I kill both of them and Vava so I can get Zero's sword. Though, it's been a long time since last I played so I might be wrong, but I don't think beating them is all that integral to getting Zero's sword, is it?
I just wish you could save Hadouken, Shoryuuken and Gold Chip with passwords back then...

Outside of Ebay, I'm not really sure anymore. It's been almost five or so years since I bought him at a site and I can't really recall it. I've seen him pop up from time to time, but since I don't need another Vava, it just falls out of the old brain pan as soon as I do something else. I'll look though. I used to have one store that would sell them, but they ran out of Vava and the Ride Armour very quickly. Soon, all they had were X and his Fourth, Falcon and Gaia Armours, normal and Silver Versions. I was lucky to have gotten the Golden X when I did. Now, they don't even sell those models anymore.

He's my all time favorite Rockman character. He won me a contest that resulted in a free copy of Megamn Zero 2, and two of the super sized Rockman X action figures. Wish they'd make a Maverick game where you could control the Mavericks and raise hell. Of course, I could break down and buy a PSP and Maverick Hunter X to play as Vile, but that's just a pipe dream at the moment. Heh.
