Description
At long last I can show an illustration I've done for Magic: The Gathering CCG. Having completed it last September I couldn't release it till the company made it public which they recently did by showing it on small advertisement for the New Phyrexia set. Apparently they're having a Game Day June 11-12 and my card will be free if you go. That's pretty cool.I'm currently working on my 13 and 14th cards but this was one of the two firsts that I did and also the only full card illustration.
The brief was that she's a priest that's been taken over by the Phyrexia and now lives to cast blessings over the furnace fires.
Looking at it now there's a lot I would differently but it's still a solid piece and I'm happy with it for the time I was at.

Amazingly well done!
The fire, and his pose and everything-- just adds a great flare to the whole image and feel-- pun entirely intended.

I love the painterly style! I always kinda thought the requirement is clean lines (I did not do much research into it). This one is beautiful! So expressive! Congratulations!

Wish I could say but I simply don't know. It's not available in the US yet but another commenter said that this card with my image is exclusive for this Game Day event but the card will later be available though it will feature a different illustration.

This is awesome, the detail is beautiful, those 'magic' lines that are around him are a nice touch. Also that thing on his waist is great as well, the gems in it look like eyes which give it a bit of character. The other thing though is has face. With the fire around him it looks crazy and dangerous like he's brewing up storm. But if you look at his face, the emotion on him changes the direction completely, the angle you have his head makes it tricky to see exactly what his expression is, but that whats I gather. I like the scratchy nature of the image as well.
S'great.

Amazing! A big fan of MTG so the name rang a bell
It is going to be part of the standard NPH set, right? I seem to remember that Wizards try not to make cards exclusively hand-outs since it's unfair competition-wise if someone has access to cards that not everyone has access to...

Nevermind, I looked it up on Gatherer. Obviously the version with your art will be exclusive, but the card will be available for everyone carrying the "default" illusstration by Kev Walker. Correct?
