Description
This is just a character that I'd had on my mind for a while. I wanted to mess around with working with some different textures and jacket designs. I also wanted the piece to be realistic while maintaining a clear painterly appearence.Related content

Out of all of your great artwork this piece really struck me for it's realism and the subtlety of the story behind her face. Very very awesome!

Wow!! How do you do such realistic characters with PhotoShop? I want to make some pics of characters that I have in mind.

Sorry, I missed your comment till just now. The easy way is to sketch a figure then in Photoshop go to Filters > Fancy > Make Realistic. It'll fill in the details and create the lighting scheme. I'm kidding of course. If it were that easy I'd be out of a job Seriously, it takes a lot of time and practice. You need a good understanding of anatomy, light behavior and some good references can really help. That's it in a nutshell, if you want more details on a specific point let me know

My faV part is the softness of the face. I also like the jacket Style and how well it fits her. Great Job!

Yes, I had reference for various bits. There was a particular color of hair I wanted that I had seen so I had ref help me get the right shade as well as the eyes and general stance. Most things I can just make up but to help boost the level of believability a couple of refs can really help.
