I just love cardnals but I think there would have been better contrast if there was snow in the picture (that is if you get snow where you live) Also what time was the picture taken because sometimes that can also improve the picture as well. But anyway this is a nice photo and has good contrast as well as the perfect detail, speaking of which what camera did you use? I've been wanting to get a camera for photography but I would not know where to start so maybe you can tell me what are some good choices to use for photography.

The camera was a Canon 5D Mark II, and I would suggest any Canon you can afford, if birds will be your subjects. That is due to the better telephotos Canon makes, which are pricey, but worth it. Don't be afraid to buy used. Thanks for taking the time for the thoughtful critique.

"I'm here on behalf of a.deviantart.net/avatars/s/e/s⦠" alt=" " title="SelfTaughtArtist"/> because your piece was in the group's critique requested folder."
Each time i look at this folder your deviation catch my eye, i just love it.
I think you did a great job, the bird is totally in focus, and the background has disappear, so we dont have anything to distract us from the bird. Also as the bird is as nearly as tall as the photo frame it makes feel the bird more close and that makes feel a kind of intimacywith the bird.
The branch says that the photo was shot in wild life while the other items could mean cautivity, or a non focused sky, or maybe a photomanipulation.
Im sorry for my English.

This is such an awesome shot, that I feel inspired to paint it. Will you please allow me? I am doing a series of traditional works on Birds. Also, please allow me to consider some more from your awesome gallery, so I can choose a few.

Yes, please paint or draw anything you want from my gallery, but I do ask that you credit the photograph (perhaps link it if you can), when you publish your work, or sell it in a gallery. As a naturalist and artist, I hope that my work is good enough to paint or sketch, and I would like to see anything that you produce from it. Thanks,
Rene

The colour in the feathers is stunning against the beige(ish) colour of the background. Beautiful focus as well.

Excellent work.
Are you getting any snow up there?
Only had a trace of snow in Wichita for all of January.
