It's fun having a best friend who's a robot! I highly recommend it. Even after you've destroyed your uncle's favourite steam-powered velocipede and set fire to his automaton factory, your robot friend is there to make you feel better!I did this reasonably quickly. When you zoom in, it starts getting splodgy.
Pen and Ink, Corel Painter X, some touchup in Adobe Photoshop CS3.

Oh wow; this has truly wonderful lighting. I'm curious; you say you did this reasonably quickly (which I don't doubt), but how long did it take, as an hours-wise estimation? Also, did you start with a white background, or the main red-orange that glows in this picture?

The colours and lighting here are really amazing! I love how you shaded both characters differently enough to show that one is flesh and one is metal, but alike enough to show that they are in the same area. Beautiful work!

The title gives a funny interpretation to hungarian people- 'suppose you don't know that 'ember' means 'human' in our language.

About the title choice - "ember" means human in Hungarian, which is interesting, considering the situation depicted. Intentional or coincidence? Either way, it amusingly fits, in my opinion.
