Wow, I've been uploading a lot of Hollow Fields art lately, in preparation for the release of volume one! Here's the new (but still tentative) cover art for the first book in the series, and I decided to go with a sort of an 'art nouveau' look. Wide-eyed redheaded schoolgirl Lucy and mechanical steam-driven maid Miss Notch say - welcome to Hollow Fields, enjoy your stay! But be careful of those two lurking in the background - Stinch and Miss Weaver are never up to any good...!The first volume (hopefully with this as the cover) is due out in June 2007! Wonderful! I love the positioning of the characters up front, and the way that you have layered the composition. Lots of details in the background with those tower and the crazy gears (in white, no less) superimposed over them. It kinda reminds me of raindrops on the surface of a pond.
The graphic elements really helps to frame all the various parts of the cover and helps hold them together.
I'm really looking forward to the release!
