When I whisper of my woesHow can anyone hear
When the din of their own lives
Is ringing in their ears
Forcing a smile as they glance
Frown as they look away
Please somebody turn around
I'm really not okay
You refuse to see the signs
A deluge of denial
Drowns out my facial features
The absence of a smile
Obliged to ask how I am
Your concerns I allay
But then again I would do
I'm really not okay
Hold back the transparent tears
A dam of repression
I'll be damned if anyone
Sees through my confession
Slowly my world unravels
Life's tapestry will fray
My pain has been tailor made
I'm really not okay
I write poems and stories
Keep a diary with me
Leave it in public places
Hoping someone will see
And tell me how they have read
Up to the present day
Hold me close and say those words
Are you really okay?

Wow. Story of my life. People are so half-assed to me... They'll ask and ask if I'm okay, but its clear they're just trying to be humane. My revenge for their lies would be to give them the cold, hard truth. It hurts just as much.

From another writers point of view I must say this is really honest and beautiful. You can really feel the emotion. I really like how almost the last line of every stanza is the same. A piece that a lot of people I think can relate to. Very well done. Sorry for this being long. I love giving feedback on pieces I really like.

I'm absolutely sick of emo poetry. Just sick.

I understand that, but I'm just sick of the fact that the for the most part the emotion that people like to express through poetry is always exclusion. I also know that even though this sentiment has been done to death not all poems on this theme are automatically bad for it. But I do dislike that every time I get onto Facebook one of these poems in on the front page.
I admit that posting that opinion was 100% negative and accomplished nothing.

Oh, it wasn't that a read this that I felt misfortune. It was simply the fact that a poem that's just repeating "Oh, I suffer soooo much" over and over is on the front page only because people like to cheer on each other's self pity.
And I did read it only because I felt that it would be unfair for me to assume it was emo poetry only from the title. But what I found was the quintessential example of emo poetry.

i dont know about these tags and they dont interest me. I know people who have been through far worse things than my mind can even comprehend. I wrote it for them, not the average teenage angsty crap lol
