I wasn't kidding man. Ship Tenma with everyone.

Oooooh, I've been drawing this one for too long (2 weeks about) because I dunno I had difficulties, mostly mental ones but I made peace with them.

This was originally supposed to be much more simpler but I figured I hadn't colored most of the Monster characters in yet so I decided that these would be the drawings I'd start with.

Eva
Tenma's ex-fiancee and probably the only person he's ever been intimate with in canon anyway. From Another Monster (the supplemental material for Monster; kinda sorta like How to Read 13 was for Death Note), I gather that with Eva he was a rather submissive partner: doing what she said, giving her smiles despite her bad temper, etc.

I'd like to think it extended to the bedroom too because I am a perv I get the feeling he's a bit umm dense (impolite wording, sorry) when it comes to romantic encounters. I feel like Eva was probably often the first one to make any kind of move. I bet she started the relationship in the first place.

Mr. Grimmer
Ohhh ohhh I just love seeing them stand next to each other in the same panel, the same screen. I just love the height difference between the two I blame sutenia. They really resemble a couple to me; they're just so sweeeet. I love how Grimmer can get a smile out of Tenma and trick him into having picnics with him. Oh and Tenma is so patient with Grimmer, clearly and softly answering his questions.

IDK, to me, they feel very tender as a couple. /weep weep so sweet so sweet

Right, okay I got off-track um... This image happens probably around the same rainy night after the whole episode with Milosh (The Cruelest Thing, I think it's called). A lot of the Grimmer/Tenma stories I've read take place around this time.

Grimmer has just had a very strong moment of emotional vulnerability so he's a lot more unguarded than he usually is. In this drawing, his fondness for Tenma shows and without really thinking, he pulls him closely in a mindful and unconfident way. Maybe he presses his lips against Tenma's hair a bit maybe <_<;;;;

Johan
Oh man what to say...

This drawing well I guess you could say it takes place post-series when Dr. Tenma is in the MSF (aka Doctors with Borders) traveling the world so he is a bit unshaven but he keeps his hair trim at least. Johan escaped to do whatever Johans do.

These two meet. Tenma is naturally uneasy but Johan manages to get him to lower his guard a bit. Maybe they bump into each other a few times. Maybe Johan gets bored with Tenma's politeness. Maybe both out of curiosity and an urge to rile him up, he pulls Tenma into a kiss without warning.

And maybe just maybeee Johan finds out that it riles him up too.

Nina
Oh Ninaaa, this pairinggg, GET IN

The first time around, I wasn't all that into it until like the very end when Nina and Tenma were like wordlessly leaning against each other following the long-ass fucking crazy journey that they both had gone through together. I was like woahhh damn that is intense.

But it wasn't until I heard the giddy excitement in Nina's voice when she heard Tenma was coming back that I felt those soft shippy feels

Re-reading it, she asks Tenma at their first meeting of her adult life, "Are you the prince on the white horse?" Thinking about everything he does later on... it just melts my heart.

When these two get paired, Nina usually has to face the hurdle of their age gap and Tenma's self-deprecating modesty: no no noo I'm way too old and you can find someone much better.
