This was drawn in SAI using the pen tool.
There are sooo many amazing tutorials out there, this is just the basic method I use to draw and color eyes in...hope it helps a bit!

1. quick drawing of the basic shape of the eye using the pen tool at S-7
2. block out where eyelashes will go
3. fill in top lash area, doesn't have to be the same color as outline but I think it looks nice
4. pick what darker/base color the eye will be
5. add a bit of shading on the whites of the eyes, and pick your main/light eye color. You could just add a pupil and stop here if you really wanted to.
6. added a few extra shadows, and some highlights on the upper lash area
7. blocked out where the pupil will be resting (anime eyes dont make sense but they look cute sooooo....)
8. drew in the pupil (can be any shape really) and added some glowy highlights
9. This step is just extra really. I added a layer of a few colors and blurred them out, then made the opacity low...just enough so you notice some color change.
