You know, many stores in Hyrule across the ages have sold hearts to Link. However, where exactly do these hearts come from? If you ponder it for very long, it quickly becomes a rather disturbing thing to think about. Ultimately, this was based on a conversation that I had with the real life Sara after looking at this picture by Andrew Dobson .

Well speaking of hearts when Link gets a heart how does he hold onto it? does he eat it or does he just stuff it in his shirt?

The more you think about it, the creepier it gets. If you kill a monster, then finding a heart isn't too unusual - although perhaps a bit macabre - but what exactly is it that Link is doing with it afterwards that heals him? If you slice up a bush, why was there a heart left behind? Was there a rabbit hiding in the bush that accidentally met its demise along with the bush? Does Link just happen to have a knack for finding gophers whenever he's digging up the ground (because he can get hearts that way too)? Lastly, why do blown up rocks sometimes leave hearts behind? We're these not rocks at all... BUT REALLY SLEEPING BABY GORONS!?
