A friend of mine who is into anime asked me to draw her as Revy Two Hands from the series Black Lagoon. I'm withholding names for privacy reasons. Let me know what you think in the comments section below.Related content

Hey there, I'm from -
Lets start this out by saying I'm decidedly impressed. You did a freaking fantastic job on the foreshortening and just the entire pose in general from the way you have her chest/torso covering up/coming in front of her left arm, to the general slanted nature of her stance, to the the general details of her clothing and guns. All that works really well.
Where the picture falls a little short is primarily her legs, specifically the placement of her feet. What you have is almost correct, but the quality of everything else makes them stick out a little. The feet are on the same horizontal (imagine an ruler stretching between the two). This is the wrong placement our girl here is leaning forward, meaning that the feet should be staggered with one sitting more in the background ( the right foot) and the other coming into the foreground slightly ( the left foot). Just in case you don't know why the left foot needs to be forward, that's that foot with all her weight. you can try this out really easily fore your self, take a step forward and see how your back foot kinda lifts off the ground, the lean backward and see how you automatically put your weight on your back foot.
Next, we loose track of the shadows on her legs a little, but this is a traditional piece and eraser smudging can make things difficult so i'm just going to leave that at a mention.
Some quick notes would be to consider tapering the calves down into the ankles a little, darkening most shadows just a little bit more and making the nose just a little bit longer. Quick rule of thumb is that the bottom of the nose falls halfway between the brow line and the chin. The bottom of the bottom lip should go halfway between the nose and the chin. Eyes go halfway between the top of the skull ( not the hair) and the chin. Eyebrows go a little above the eyes and the top of the ear should aline with the brow line while the hole of the air ( where you place earbuds) should aline withe bottom of the nose. Oh and corner of the jaw goes roughly around the height of the bottom lip.
I hope this helps.

Yeah I tried to create a 3D effect with the shading on her left leg like I did with the left arm. Didn't work as well as I'd hoped.

You actually did alright on the upper thigh, the shading just didn't make it down to her calves.
