Description IT'S BEEN ALMOST TWO MONTHS SINCE MAKING MY ACCOUNT HERE, AND IT'S JUST UNTIL NOW I POST SOMETHING FROM A DRAWING PAD. I think I should reiterate to myself how much I need to get my priorities together.

This is just a small thing I wanted to make to just play around with the pad and start learning how the thing works alongside the drawing program. At least I know how to draw decently, so now I have to learn how to draw on this tablet. Gotta start somewhere, right?

Btw, anybody's got some tips on the do's and don't's of drawing digitally (on a tablet)? I'm pretty new on this, so any help would be really appreciated, like canvas size, colors, shortcuts, layouts, anything helps!

Nice drawings! It's rad that you're getting used to the tablet this quick

I can't give too much advice on drawing with a tablet, since I don't know much about it myself lol. I can tell you a few things about image formats though, if you need to know anything about that

Try to use png whenever you save the picture, because, unlike jpg, it saves the image exactly how you drew it. Saving it as jpg messes with colors and general quality. Also, make sure to draw in at least 300 ppi, since anything less usually looks kinda pixelated. No clue if you already knew this stuff, but when I was starting out, I had no clue what those were, so I wanted to possibly save you a bit of headache lol

Heh, I kid you not, I actually knew about different file formats had pros and cons to them, but I forgot about them when I tried to remember. And even after I searched it up, I thought JPG was the better of the two, but WELP, guess I searched wrong. Didn't know about the ppi tidbit either, so that helps too.
Thanks for the heads up!

(the fact that this drawing is in JPG is gonna haunt me a lil now, heh)

Man, you took the transition to the tablet really well... it looks pretty slick! My first time on a drawing tablet gave birth to some real turds I dare not let the internet see.
By the way, does your tablet have buttons? I'd personally recommend mapping your most used functions to those if you have the opportunity. Helps me out a little when I'm drawing.

Oh, believe me, my first attempts at this aren't any good at all, & they ain't seeing the light of the Internet anytime soon either. I actually took a few hours to get to know the drawing program (Paint tool SAI) so I wouldn't be that lost, but I still got some exploring to do.
The tablet's actually got a few buttons on it, even a touch ring (and boy, that's been a huge help). I already have it set up with some pretty used shortcuts, but I always have the hardest time picking which ones to choose ^^'
