I always though that Ulrich was one of the deepest characters, while, for example Odd had his way to face problems like ignoring them or making jokes, I think Ulrich just keep them, inside him, trying not to worry his friends for them, that's why I think that his...uhm, swordsman class? Fits him a lot, that's very courteous
