Description
This is my first attempt and try out of Ultra Fractal as I want to understand the program better and expand my level of skill to other programs and not just apophysis. I crave knowledge. I know my first one sucks major but I am open to any and all tips if your willing to give them out.Related content

I really admire your enthusiasm to give UF a go - presumably at this stage, a trial version? I urge you to stick with it - it will take much time and concentration as you read its manual and try various tuts out (look in resources??); you'll find it huge fun, and once you find your particular style, stick with it for a while and keep working on it.
A good idea is always to tweak the gradients; you may know that you can do this by clicking on it, and then on the top of the program you can also click on Gradient again to find more options. You can remove and insert new points for your gradient, pull them together, or apart, move them around and so on until you find something pleasing to the eye. You can do this on separate layers (press control and click on the + next to the layer in order to isolate it; do the same again to get all layers working together when you want to. (Neat shortcuts.)
Then there are the layer properties themselves, which can bring out really exciting new colours in your fractal. I'll try and dig out some really good tuts for you, but the manual is very good to begin with.
Hey if you get the animated version (which I don't have) then you're into an even more interesting dimension!
OMGosh I do hope this doesn't sound patronising!!! - not meant to I assure you!

Great first try! Try zooming in on a specific spiral.
There's some really great UF tuts right here on DA.

Hi there Dave! I think you have done very well for your first attempt ~ it is really very striking and I admire your enthusiasm to try new programs. I wrote a note to Sophie asking for her advice as to how to be added to your watchlist, so you could have access to the work of experienced UF users, and she said to just ask you, so I am doing it here rather than by note! Anyway, wonderful effort here, and you are doing a really great job as GM!
Cheers, Coco

Thank you very much for the compliment. I still have a lot of learning to do, major learning.
