Description
ok I read the basic tutorials followed several to learn new things and then went out on my own and made this. It is still very basic but I like it. Be honest and let me know what you think.I created this with 3 layers, no masking or making drop shadows. I still need to read the howto on masking and how to make shadows.
original rendering is 8000 x 6000 @ 719 dpi. I had to reduce the quality to be able to upload. The rendering took me 2 hours to complete. Does it improve the quality to increase the max iterations to 100000 and the additional precision to 30?

the only thing that I have seen is raising the iteratins to 500 will 85% of the time remove the black dot created in the center of spirals..... This is GREAT work.. I'm a newbie also.. looking for some tutorials on lsayers and shadows

Thank you, I figured posting my uf images to a group would bring them to light.

Excellent sweetie! I love to see it when others try new programs and expand their knowledge. UF makes some awesome fractals!! ss Love this one!

Forgot to mention - best starter mats I can recommend for UF are Mary Thorntons' Spiral Tutorials *FireLilyFractals or Chris's Marbe Tutorial =Velvet--Glove aside from that my own 4 part Video series
Learning UF is that much easier if you can use Photoshop fairly competently as well as have a goodish understanding about different types of fractal. With Ver 5 although it has become more complex new and necessary featuures have been included such as the ability to group layers marking replication a fait accompli!
I know you'll have fun with UF!

WOW! Really lovely and lively, with design and interest to it. Doing well!
As for rendering; depends on the largest size you want to produce at decent quality - and what your machine is capable of. I usually work on the basis of the largest print that can be done here - something like A1 size. Anyway, I opt for 8x12 or 9x12 x 300ppi, with anit-alias set to normal, and that has never let me down. Takes approx. 20-30 mins average on my machine. (Used to take up to 8 hours on previous machine!!!)
As someone else said, too high a resolution can knock out a lot of texturing etc. that you were hoping to see, and introduce the appearance of flaws you don't want to see.
For this one, I'd say you by far overdid the rendering, simply because it wasn't necessary in order to achieve this very good result

Sometimes it helps to increase the iterations...but I have found that if you go to deep when rendering it can bring out flaws that normally would not be seen...myself, I can't tell the difference between a depth of 2 to 4...I have never rendered a depth greater than 4...Hummm...maybe I should try deeper just to experiment? Anyway...more layers and depth = more time spent rendering...

thank you for the info, it will be nice not to have to wait so long to render an image.

Nice !!! very graceful julia. You showing of the shape nicely the seed is tweaked to make good full spiral and the colors are alive.
Good play with mods and coloring algorythms
You don't have to render that big I found that going up to 4000 in image size for one of dimensions gives you very good results at 720dpi
and the image doesnt exceed 10Mb.

You mean you just read through it all, remembered it and did it?
People say it has a steep learning curve!
I think I'll give fractalising up for good!

I won't say I have photographic memory, but I have a high ability to remember what I read and if I practice what I read at the same time well then it is stuck in my head.
