Description
The day was bright and beautiful, and I had a strong feeling we would find Matt's spot for his future Puckoo farm! I brushed back the tuft of hair on my head, while looking dashingly good as always~ I grabbed my lucky pom-pom hat placing it on, and likewise I make it work. Now all that leaves is Matt getting his scarf and his Puckoo, Ash, so that we can set off!Although... he was taking quite awhile to get his spikey butt out here. Ick... That's still a butt that even I wouldn't want to pinch. But, I know how Matt likes to take his time. Besides, I'm very patient...
"MATT!!! WOULD YOU HURRY THE HECK UP AND GET YOUR BUTT OUT HERE ALREADY!?" I shouted out to him.
A pink figure soon made its way out of Alvern's home. Ah, there he is. That blank expressive bubblegum with a dumb animal riding his back. He still doesn't comprehend that Puckoos can't bond with Wyngrew... Ah well. Whatever keeps him happy. Or rather... satisified.
He casually looked at me with the same expression he normally possesses. "Ready to go...?" he plainly asks of me.
"Of course!" I replied back to him. "I've been waiting for like 20 minutes! Now c'mon! Let's go find a large spot of land and reserve it for your future farm!"
He nodded back at me. We began to embark on our adventure to find a good spot of land for Matt's future Puckoo Farm!~
30 minutes later...
Some time has passed and we're a little deep into the woods right now. It took us a bit longer to get this far if only a certain someone didn't keep stopping every time he saw a random Puckoo passing by... And yet, this makes me question who's the dumb one right now. Don't get me wrong. Matt is much more smarter than I am. But the guy has priorities, ya know? Kinda wish he'd know where to maintain his priorities since we're looking for a spot to claim for his farm...
Anyway, as soon as we got far enough we stopped for a brief moment to take a small break to observe where we are.
If I was being honest right now, this part of the forest was giving me the creeps and I couldn't figure out why...
I turned to Matt to see if he felt the same. "Hey Matthias. Does this area of the forest feel strange to you?"
"Strange, how...?" He questioned. "I dunno. Just, something about it doesn't feel right." Before I could say anything else it wasn't too long before I noticed that Ash wasn't with him. Which was raising some concerns. "Matt? Where's your Puckoo?"
Matt was now just realizing Ash wasn't on his back anymore. Typical. The life of me will never understand what is it that he likes about Puckoos... Of course, now this means we're gonna have to search for Ash before we can proceed to find a nice spot to reserve Matt's future farm. Albeit as if by a mere coincidence, we heard a funny animal noise to our far left. "Sounds like Ash." I said to Matt.
We followed the noise Ash was making. And the noise coming from her sounded really obnoxious.
Matthias pushed away some of the larger leaves that were blocking to where our ears were picking up the hullabaloo from the Puckoo. Turns out Ash was spazzing over an abandoned Wyngro egg that had a green color to it. "An egg?" I tilted my head, confused.
Matt and I approached the Wyngro egg and examined it. Well, Matt had his priorities; he gently picked up Ash and placed her on his back. I continued to thoroughly analyze the egg. I felt it. It was warm. Which was a good thing. But it was also a sign. Something or someone has been keeping it warm. Because there's no way an egg can survive on its own without someone or something protecting it. "I wonder who or what has been taking care of it..." I thought aloud. "Hey Matt. We should probably cancel the journey and take this egg back to the-"
"Kurt!" Matt raised his tone cutting me off. I looked in his direction. "Dude, what?" He pointed at a massively large creature sprinting its way toward us. Not only was that thing looking bigger as it was coming our way, but it looked like it wanted to rip us a part!
"HOLY BUTT PIMPLES! RUUUUUUNNN!!!"
Matt and I did not hesitate. We had to run as if our lives depended on it. Because right now, it mostly certainly does! But holy crap! Whatever this thing is that's chasing us, it's freakin' huge! I'd have to guess surpassing the size of an adult male moose! What made things even worse is that it was already catching up to us. "I don't think its possible to outrun this thing." I told Matt as we were still running. "We need to hide and fast! A place where it's unable to reach us."
During the chase I felt a branch snagging my hat right off of my head. "Aah! My hat!" I looked back at it. The branch it got caught on tore a big hole in it. I would go back for it, but given our situation there's no time and it's just not worth the extreme amount of risk it would put us in.
"Kurt!!" Matt alerted me. His head motioned to the right where I saw a large Tree that had a medium-to-large size hole. "Perfect!" I exclaimed. "It won't be able to get us inside of there!"
We hurried to make our way inside of the tree. Once we got in we were both panting heavily. We weren't even being chased for too long and we're already out of breath. I turned to look at Matt, he was making sure his Puckoo was okay. I rolled my eyes at this but at least he cares for the dumb thing.
Though, I wondered if that creature stopped chasing us as soon as we took cover. "It must've given up on us by now..." I slowly approached my way towards the hole that led back outside. I jumped back when the creature spontaneously attempted but almost successfully trying to fit its head through the hole as it viciously snarled and growled, trying to bite at me.
"OH MY GOSH! I COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE WRONG!!" I stood on my hind legs the second this thing surprised the crap out of me. I was trying to keep my balance since I was stumbling backwards. My foot landed on something that felt like a trigger. Something opened up from underneath the ground, causing me to tumble down to what appears to be some sort of slide. I was practically screaming throughout the whole thing. Thankfully the ride wasn't long but the landing wasn't soft either...
"Ugh..." I sat up only a little, rubbing my head. "Nice landing, Kurt..." My eyes wandered in every direction. I was merely baffled at this point. It was the fact that this tree actually has a secret of its own. Which is cool but still confusing all the same. Before I could get a better look Matt ended up slamming in to me from sliding down...
"Sorry..." he apologizes in his plain tone. He got up and stretched his arms wide open. I raised a brow when he did that but apparently his arms were only open to catch Ash. Like I said, I don't think I'll understand his love for Puckoos...
"Kurt." He calls my name and points to an entrance that's shrouded with big leaves. We made our way over to it, pushing the leaves to the side revealing some sort of hidden room. It was... quite something. I took a few steps in taking a look around. "Looks like... some sort of bunker."
Someone must've lived here. There were a few small beds, a little storage, a shelf hanging above one of the beds, and a wodden stump that had a book resting on top of it covered in dust. Actually, most of the things here were covered in dust. It's likely that this place hasn't been touched in awhile.
Matt goes over and picks up the book. I leaned over his shoulder looking at it with curiosity. While Ash... well she was just continuously bumping into the wall.
"What are you waiting for? Open it!" I gripped on to the shoulders of Matthias, jumping up and down as I eagered him to open the book.
He slowly opens it up. Flipping through page by page. Pretty sure we were both skim-reading since we couldn't care less what most of it said. The writing was eligible but partly most of it was smudged on most of the pages. Not to mention there was no date written down on any of 'em to know exactly when was all of it documented.
Matt came to a hault on one page that apparently contained some sort of small message. The writing was much more clearer compared to the other pages and not at all smudged. It said...
Secrets.... There are many secrets. This tree. It is not normal. Harm is what it fears. Only a few but not many should be allowed to find this place. As they will harm it. This tree. Possessing history. It can feel. It can cry without the rain. Love helps it grow. Treasure a gift that was bestowed. Secrets. Harm. History. Feelings. Love. The gift of life. And yet the burden as well as the weight of the world, is heavy...
"What... did any of that mean?" I questioned as Matthias and I looked at each other. We were both puzzled.
"Looks like there's nothing left." He said to me flipping through the rest of the book that was filled with blank pages. I'm really starting to question how long ago was this written? It couldn't be recent if most of this stuff was covered in dust.
Matt shut the book. Placing it back on top of the wooden stump.
An idea soon crossed my mind. The message in that book said 'only a few but not many should be allowed to find this place.' This place could be a nice, yet small hideout for an occasional get together with a few of our friends. Just a few, though. If the message said that not many should be allowed to discover this place then it'd be best to respect what was written.
I turned to Matt with bright eyes, "We should definitely use this place as our own hidden hideout!" I wrapped my arm around his neck. But I was careful not getting too close to his face due to his cheek spikes. "Think about it! Just me, you, and a few of our friends- It'd be fun!!"
Matt went silent for a moment there and basically just gave me the same blank look. I sighed. "And Ash too. And possibly any other Puckoos you might happen to encounter..."
"I'm in."
Go figures he'd agree to that as long as there's Puckoos involved.
"Great!"
I faced the direction from where we came. I'm still a bit shaken up after being chased by whatever the heck that thing was. In the meantime Matt and I are just gonna have to wait it out down here for awhile until it goes away. Hopefully it won't be long.
That Wyngro egg though... It felt warm. Who was taking care of it?
---------
So few things- Kurt loses his pom-pom hat during the chase and is likely not going to get it back, him and Matthias discover some type of hidden bunker after he accidentally triggered something underneath him that led him to the underground, and they discover an extremely vague and odd message in a book that regards the tree they're hiding in.
Mmmmmmmm- Yep! That's all there is to it then >:3
