At the antique shop, not all items were paid for with money. The doll was just one of many items available. Each item had its own story though many of the stories would never be told.

Mark was a boy in his late teens. He was doing poorly in school. If his grades did not improve, he would have to repeat the 10th grade. As he entered the antique shop, he took a deep breath and tried to put such worries aside. The shop was near where he lived, but this was the first time he had actually gone inside.

Suddenly, he heard a voice call out to him. On one of the shelves was a doll. Even though she was old, she was still pretty. Mark had to play with her. It did not matter who was watching. A simpler time came to mind. One that involved nothing but childhood, happiness, and playing with dolls. He felt like repeating the year might not be such a bad thing after all.
