Words Below:
Charlie had been invited to a masquerade ball. He did not know much about dancing or selecting a costume, but that did not stop him from attending. One of his outfits was ripped. He would have just thrown it away, but due to the masquerade ball he added some mismatched patches to it and went as a homeless man.
Sadly that was not too far away from the truth. His family was always in need of money. Thus far they had managed to pay the rent but a single bad event could send them spiraling into a debt from which they could never recover.
Charlie tried to put such worries aside as he attempted to socialize. A group of young women nearby were all dressed as princesses. They went upstairs to the balcony. Charlie followed them hoping he would get a chance to talk to them. However, when he got there they were nowhere to be seen. They had mysteriously disappeared.
The only thing they left behind was a crown. Charlie took the crown and placed it on his head. At that instant, the crown lit up in sparkles. The sparkles increased in number as they floated downward until they covered his entire body.
The crown was magical in nature. Charlie looked around nervously but the sparkles had a calming effect. He would just stay where he was and let the magic do it work. White gloves appeared on his hands. This was only the first of many changes that happened to him in rapid succession.
The patches on his outfit disappeared as it changed color to bright pink. Then it extended outward into a poof dress. A bow with a darker shade of pink wrapped around the waist.
Charlie himself was transformed by the magic. His hair turned a light blond, lengthened, and placed itself neatly into a bun. Makeup appeared on his face, especially on the eyes and lips. His body became more feminine in appearance which enabled him to better fit the dress. As the final changes occurred he, or she, knew she was fully female.
The name Charlie would no longer do. Her name was Charlotte. She was a princess, at least for the masquerade ball, and she wanted to be one all the time. The best way to do that was to marry a prince and the best way to do that was to actually talk to one.
Charlotte was obvious to the way most others saw her as a hopeless dreamer, but even if she had it would not stop her from reaching her destiny. Even from her location on the balcony, she would see a prince had arrived. Excitedly she ran down the stairs hoping to talk to him or even dance with him. The night was still young.
