Crimson was originally a female character created for a Pirates of the Caribbean role play. Although I never received any replies, I liked the idea so I kept it. Eventually it became this.

Crimson was a pirate captain. He and his crew lived on Blood Rock Island hidden somewhere in the Caribbean. It was the only life he knew. His ship was called the Nightwind and it had a reputation of bringing death and destruction wherever it went.

He and his crew on Black Rock Island lived by the pirate code. The ships they had formed alliances with were off limits. However, those who ignored them, and especially those who tried to fight them, would be taught a lesson. They would face the full wrath of the Nightwind until they either died or surrendered.

At an early age, Crimson learned how to swim. The ferocious storms he faced back then would make most adults flee in terror. He had years of experience as a pirate and took good care of the Nightwind. From memory, he knew every part of his ship and every secret compartment it contained. Some of them could hold several people if they ever needed to hide, or more likely keep prisoners.

Danger was like an old friend to him. However, a fine line exists between bravery and foolishness and Crimson and the crew of the Nightwind had crossed it. As soon as he learned about the cursed treasure, he sent his entire crew off to retrieve it. Nothing, not even a curse, would keep him away from such a bountiful prize.

It did not take long for them to find the treasure. Most of the locals knew where it was but none of them wanted to take it due to the curse. Crimson took some of the gold for himself and carried as much as he could onto his ship. His crew did the same. Soon the entire treasure was on the ship and they were ready to set sail.

Before they could, the curse took effect. Crimson and his crew felt a burning sensation from any treasure they had on their person. They dropped all the items but the burning sensation continued. They still had plenty of items on their ship.

As captain, Crimson was first to feel the effects of the curse. His bright red hair grew well past his shoulders, his fingernails grew long and silver so that they kind of resembled claws, and his outfit reshaped itself into a pirate dress showing both his shapely legs and the area below his neck. Breasts grew on him and the rest of him changed as well leaving him, or her, fully female.

Looking around, Crimson could see the rest of the crew were becoming female too. They were about half a minute behind her. Over half the crew were driven mad. They jumped into the water as if that would change them back but all it did was make them wet and even more embarrassed than they were before. Some of them even drowned by swimming too deep into the ocean.

The entire crew of the Nightwind was devastated. Crimson, who was adjusting better to the change than most, knew what she had to do. She ordered the entire crew to place the treasure back where they had found it. This counted as surrender and by the pirate code it was wrong to attack someone who surrendered. It stopped the madness but Crimson and the crew of the Nightwind remained women.

Many members of the crew wanted to leave the pirate life but Crimson would not hear of it. Being women had its disadvantages but it had its advantages too. They would continue to rob ships in the area, but they would rely less on overpowering them and more on taking them by surprise.

Crimson and the crew of the Nightwind adjusted to their new lives as best they could. They would need new crew members to replace those they had lost but that would not be a problem. With their new female bodies plenty of men were willing to join them.
