Bo, a recent graduate of Magic Academy, found a magical shop online that sold all kinds of magical devices. One of them was called a School Memory Enhancer. The description below said the device would allow you to recall or even change your memories of your time in school. The price was not that expensive. He thought it was a good deal.

With the School Memory Enhancer, Bo could recall his time in school with perfect accuracy. He could even change those memories he did not like. He ordered the device and it was magically teleported to him instantaneously. He picked up the device and twisted it about in his hand so he could see it from every possible angle. That was the point when he stopped being cautious.

Bo could have started out by simply reliving his school memories. At least then he could get a better idea of which memories he wanted to change. Instead he decided to go back to the point when he first arrived at school and change his memories of that time. He thought it would make his entire time in school seem better.

The School Memory Enhancer interpreted this as a full memory rewrite. Sparks flew out of the device as it reversed his personal timeline, first physically and then mentally. It was only Bo who changed. Everything else seemed more or less the same.

Since Bo wanted his memories to be different, the School Memory Enhancer made other changes to his mind and body. Besides becoming younger, his entire body changed from male to female. Next his, or her, clothing changed into something more suitable for Bo as she had become and as she was becoming.

Bo was wearing a school uniform made for a girl. The skirt was a little too short but she was still getting younger. Once she became 11 years old, the typical age of a first year student, the uniform was a perfect fit. She let out a loud scream. With the change in age, the change in gender, and the sparks still flying out of the machine, she never had time to make any sense of her situation.

The School Memory Enhancer was already rewriting her entire memory. It was not supposed to go beyond her time in school, but rewriting all of her school memories had caused it to malfunction. All of her memories were erased. Bo just stared blankly at the wall. She knew she had forgotten something but could not remember what it was.

A backup system noticed the error and attempted to correct it. This resulted in more sparks coming out of the device. Most of her memories before going to Magic Academy were restored. The only ones that were not were those directly related to her old biology because it would create too much confusion. All of her school memories were gone and would not be returning.

Bo remembered she was heading over to Magic Academy to take a look at the school she would be attending for years to come. Her uniform had already been purchased and she was wearing it to make sure it fit. She wondered what the device in her hand might be. It was badly burnt and appeared to be no longer working. She would worry about it later. Bo set the broken School Memory Enhancer on the table and went off to take a look at her new school.
